Ridicolous Alien entire cast plus Giger..Plus Ridley Scott warning EBAY SELLER snurman

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alien-Cast-HR-Giger-Ridley-Scott-Signed-x...

Hey Guys,

Just want to put a warning out there for this. I'm no authenticator but i've spent long enough over the past few months collecting all these sigs on indexs and cuts to know these are all WAY WAY off and all in one place plus look like the same hand.

Called the guy out and he took it down, asking me to prove they are fake then re-listed it saying I couldnt prove it. Just don't want some poor sod potentially blowing thousands on this garbage for a loved one etc who might not realize.

Sent him the below as what I believe is why they are fake but he hasn't taken it down. Also reported to Ebay but not sure if they do anything.

cheers - Taz

"Why didn't you add Bolaji who died in 1977 and played the Alien while you were at it!! I've reported your new listing also. I don't want some poor naive person to potentially spend a LOT of money on this garbage for a loved one.
Don't want to give you my time but ok

- Giger NEVER signs his entire name and he only EVER signs his own work i.e his artwork not a setpiece from the movie.
- John Hurt is much smaller and tighter than yours
- Tom Skerritt NEVER signs his entire name and is generally an illegible mess yet yours is a perfect letter for letter rendition
- Ridley Scott NEVER signs his surname unless its for an official contract again its an illegible mess usually
- Ian Holm is garbage just a squiggle in a line and nothing like his signature

I'm not gonna let this go mate you might as well drop it your not going to con some poor sod out of thousands."

"The foresight of the original owner to collect the signatures on a photo of the Space Jockey cannot be overstated given the continuing direction of the Alien story".

Yeah, "foresight". After the fact. SMH.

Spot on signing info for Giger and Scott signing habits. Good for everyone to know.

I know nothing of these particular autographs but it is easily seen they have zero flow. People sign with some fluidity and none of these signatures have it.

I love it when forgets use 7 different color markers to make stuff appear real. Yea right.....

The "predictable" trick of using different colors for all the signature won't work if all the signatures bear common traits. lol

Completely agree however some poor mother may buy this for her Alien loving son as a big occasion or something just makes me sick it's still up

Hello.

I am the person who listed the item on eBay that terry ryan has posted about here.

In the interest of honesty and transparency I will list the full correspondence with this person for your consideration.

Please note: The item has been withdrawn with no intention of relisting due to the controversy over its legitimacy.

In response to Woody2Shoes: This was purchased through eBay around 2002 - long before Ridley Scott chose to continue the story. eBay would have this information filed.

Item listed on eBay: 26 Sep, 2017 10:41:05 AEST

Item Description:

This is THE Alien cast + director + artist signed collectible to own.

Signed by:

HR Giger
Ridley Scott
Sigourney Weaver
John Hurt
Harry Dean Stanton
Sir Ian Holm
Tom Skerritt
Veronica Cartwright
Yaphet Kotto

Size: 200mm wide x 250mm high.

The signed photo is 1 of only 2 in the world. The other belongs to the person who personally collected the signatures. I was fortunate enough to secure this from him around the year 2002.

The Space Jockey/Engineer/Pilot photo from the film Alien (1979) with nine highly collectible signatures has and will continue to rise in value over time.

The foresight of the original owner to collect the signatures on a photo of the Space Jockey cannot be overstated given the continuing direction of the Alien story.

Incredibly rare and highly collectible.

All signatures authentic.

Do not miss this opportunity.

Notes:
1. Photos taken of signed item within protective plastic case. Actual signed photo is not washed out. This can be seen where reflection of phone on protective case shows actual colours/details of signed photo.

2. Ignore postage cost listed here. Actual postage cost added at end of auction based on location and shipping method chosen by purchaser. DO NOT PAY for item before finalising shipping method details and cost. Actual shipping cost will be added to final invoice PRIOR TO PAYMENT MADE. This is for the benefit of the purchaser.

This is utterly, terribly fake fyi. Every single one is way off.

Response from snurman:

Hello and thank you for taking the time to respond to my listing.

This... is shocking news to me. I've had this item in my possession for fifteen or more years on the belief that it is genuine.

It's not that I don't believe you but I have nothing to base what you're saying on. Are you a collector or seller yourself?

I'm left stunned and disappointed but the last thing I would want to do is deceive anyone so have removed the listing based on your response.

Can we please discuss further? Thank you.

Simon.

Your listing said all obtained IN PERSON Simon. Don't believe a word you say.

Response from snurman:

Well - that's incorrect, unhelpful and not at all friendly. The exact quote on the listing was:

"The signed photo is 1 of only 2 in the world. The other belongs to the person who personally collected the signatures. I was fortunate enough to secure this from him around the year 2002."

If that's all you have to offer to back up what you've said then I'll repost the listing.

I'm trying to do the right thing and not offer a fake but you're not offering any further evidence that the signatures are false.

Simon.

I've already reported it as counter-feit. Do not relist it.

Response from snurman:

Again - you offer no proof and I'm left with only an antagonistic person's say with nothing to back it up. This, to all intents, looks like a grudge and will be seen as such by eBay. I've asked kindly for you to substantiate your claim and have received nothing in return but accusations and a threat.

If you have due reason to believe that it is counterfeit and can provide evidence to support that then I welcome it. Otherwise I will relist the item.
