I also bought this at auction and was not sure if real because of the COA possibly being fake. Is it real or not?

The COA is fake and the photo is very fake as well. But you already suspected that by now.

I'm curious if this says "field of dreams" on it ? I had one like that signed in person. I can't vouch for the signature but the photo looks familiar

Zach,

If you're not experienced, it does look like a real Mantle autograph. Unfortunately, it's a well-known machine-signed Mickey Mantle forgery. The photo (not the signature) is probably inkjet printed on inkjet photo paper, which was at least 10-times more expensive than lab printed photos during Mantle's lifetime, and they didn't last long without fading.

In fact, most were printed on paper that didn't even exist when Mantle died in 1995.

The Score Board COA is a poor quality fake, but they only sold genuine autographs signed on regular lab printed photos. I spoke to the owner of the company that printed the photos for Score Board, and he said that they never sold inkjet printed photos at that time.

Very sorry. Who did you buy it from, when, and how did you pay? Maybe you can get your money back.

Steve

the signature and the cert are bogus.

How is it fake without actually sending into a real coa company. Signature looks like all his others I’ve seen.

Zach

I don't think you realize where you are yet.

Some people here ARE professional authenticators while some others are VERY good at authenticating as hobbyists. This is the purpose of this forum. You can start to believe what people say now or learn later.

Mickey Mouse does not reside here

BTW... what or who is a real COA company in your opinion?

In this forum, many users help other user free, without taking money and have no interest in saying false. Many user is very very expert of authentication signed. Other user expert of to be precise star, and if they write is fake, is fake 100%. The purpose is to help not to say what you hope for

My english is not perfect but i hope you understand what I mean.

I do understand you Daniele and I enjoy chatting with you at night. So happy for your Jackson - finally success story! :-)

Forgeries are intended to look like authentic signatures to the inexperienced collector. This is definitely a forgery.

Sorry this is not authentic at all
