Good Grief! Great... he knows his letters!

Lol…there’s a difference between “signed” and “initialed”

my thoughts exactly KD, the Weekend, Duran Duran, Ed Sheeran etc. think a single letter hastily written on the product counts as an "autograph". We all gotta vote with our wallets here though.

If we quit buying these single letter "autographs", perhaps the artists will get the message, and start writing full signatures again!

You're exactly right KD, I'm almost done my autograph collection too. Jimmy Page and Elvis are what's left on my list...

How can anyone post something like this and be proud of it? Instagram and social media is one big show and tell.. also companies advertising.. this is a mix. In both ways, they should feel some shame for this. Its a blatant slap in the face for fans. Taking money while showing them he basically has no time for them. If I was a celebrity, I'd be way way to embarrassed to sign this way and post this for everyone to see. id also expect a ton of backlash. His autograph literally looks like a stick being shoved into someone's backside.. which is exactly what he's doing to his fans.. bend over and take it fans..

Lol that pretty much sums it up! Like has been said, it’s understandable when the older folks put less effort these days, after decades of signing. But this seems lazy. Not only him, as said above.

I think this is at least partially an overgeneralization. Plenty of older artists have garbage signatures (Dave Grohl, Dianne Warren, Patti Smith, Sting, etc come to mind first) while plenty of popular younger artists give nice every letter signatures - Clairo, Dua Lipa, Halsey, Maggie Rogers (before this year at least), etc.

That aside, I do still agree that signature quality tilts in favor of older generations, but that isn't necessarily ego or laziness or even contempt (as plenty of older artists likewise have those nailed down to a fine art as well). Constant handwriting was just more the rule in generations past. We're well into a digital age where that isn't nearly as much so.

One other point of consideration is that older artists probably grew up with a higher percentage of autograph seekers being genuine fans. While that is probably still mostly true at the very beginning of these younger artists careers, that can very quickly change into rackers with stacks of photos stalking them at airports. I can see that affecting signature quality in a hurry.

+1     And thanks for everything you do on this site for us KD.

IMHO you're the best "spotter" out there !!!

Signed art card added to his US store for $10 https://shop.charlieputh.com/products/charlie-signed-artcard-cd

so I got one from his store in the UK and one from his US store. These signatures aren’t even CLOSE!!!! Thank goodness I only paid $10 for each. This is pitiful!!!!

Charlie must really value his fans. I filed a chargeback with my cc provider on my Lil Baby purchase and sent photos of all the different styles I could find to support my claim against their fraud - because thats what it is.

Can you actually imagine being fortunate enough to even have a fanbase, and then making an effort like Charlie’s above - and thats IF he even made it!
