I could go and buy a Upper Deck buy it now for 450 without HOF inscription.  Something fishy here or not.  Does Hof 1974 make that much difference in price on Mickey signed baseball?

Authenticated HOF mantle balls typically sell in the 800-1200 range from what I've seen. They are much more scarce than just plain name sigs.

I saw a Triple Crown inscribed ball sell for $1400 a few days ago with NO COA!
