"the ball in the photos is not hand-signed, it is a souvenir ball that is normally purchased at the ballpark.  The signatures are stamped. The ball is not shellacked, it is on a non-official ball, thus the shine is the actual synthetic material…"

"actually, Giles was the NL president thru 1969, so Bench did play while using those balls.  It does not look like an early Bench signature, but it is definitely authentic, and not too common on Giles balls."
