Any questions about this Jimi Hendrix Experience set?

Started Mar 1 0 Replies

I recently picked up this set of Jimi Hendrix Experience signatures. They look very good to me, and the provenance story matches up. Anyone think otherwise?  It's amazing that the signatures were…Continue

I recently acquired this set of really nice clean signatures that look good as gold to me, and Roger. The provenance was a great story from the original acquirer. Let me know what you think.…Continue

It came from R and R, with a REAL certificate available. Just the price that Roger charges for Dylan varies from $750??!! to $300.  Let me know what you think.…Continue

Thoughts on this Jimi Hendrix

This item is up for sale at RR.  It doesn't look remotely right to me.  It supposedly has a COA from Tracks, but the signature and backstory seem all wrong.  The individual who got the autograph…Continue

a pug called eva replied to Gratefulphish's discussion Any questions about this Jimi Hendrix Experience set?
"Thanks Eric. In Switzerland the term has only just taken off. It is used incredibly often by certain types of youngster. It seems to appear in almost every sentence I hear on the bus and sometimes multiple times in a single sentence. First names…"

Eric Keith Longo replied to Gratefulphish's discussion Any questions about this Jimi Hendrix Experience set?
""Bro" began moving beyond a simple written abbreviation into a colloquial form of address, often associated with African American vernacular English in the 1950's and 60's, and appearing in literature and films…"

a pug called eva replied to Gratefulphish's discussion Any questions about this Jimi Hendrix Experience set?
"If they look good to Roger they probably are good but I wouldn't say they are entirely typical. I've never seen Jimi write "Bro" but that doesn't mean a lot (assuming people even said "Bro" back in the 60s) and the…"

"It seems to be one of those low budget felt tips that make a dot every time you put it down and take it off, as well as everywhere the lines cross. Those are not actual dots, just double colored."

Gratefulphish replied to Gratefulphish's discussion Is This Bob Dylan legit
"It was authenticated by Roger for R & R, which is why I bought it. It is also a full legible signature, of the type where he was signing for someone he cared about, and was not in any rush, vs. the fast sharpie scribble when you have a bunch of…"

Gratefulphish replied to Bryan's discussion John Steinbeck: Real or forgeries?
"It seems that lucky "Bruce" got multiple copies of the same book signed. but the second one has the bizarre just two names, without the "for" from your example above. Looking at some other apparently legitimate booksellers, the…"

Gratefulphish replied to Beatlesfan64's discussion Elton John Signature
"I take it that these must be from two different eras of his career, as on first glance, I would never think that the two were signed by the same person. That is why this site is so amazing. So many people with knowledge of not merely a signature,…"

Gratefulphish replied to Bryan's discussion John Steinbeck: Real or forgeries?
"I think that the first one may also be by the same hand as the third and fourth.  Whoever "Bruce" is, he seems to have a printing press of Steinbeck books, and Steinbeck must have been his BFF or neighbor.  Since the second one…"

Gratefulphish replied to Robert Synder's discussion Are these Mickey Mantle autographs real? Thank you
"+ 1 The cumulative knowledge here is just phenomenal. It is rare to find something come up that someone here has not studied at some point. Plus the analytical ability of people to dissect a signature for comparison purposes is also amazing. …"

Gratefulphish replied to A.B.'s discussion Grace Kelly - Authentic?
"It is pretty evident just from the letter "e" in the last names. In the real ones, she uses the backward 3 form of the letter, while the OP has it matching the ending "e" in Grace. It is odd to see someone use two entirely…"
