This is a cast-signed album cover of a vinyl recording of significant narration from the original "Star Wars" movie - Episode IV "A New Hope".

It is signed by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, who added "Leia", which I think is fairly rare for her to do, Harrison Ford, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels, David Prowse, John Williams, and George Lucas.

There are nine total autographs, and 5 of 7 added the name of the character he or she played in the movie. Only Ford and Hamilton did not add their character's name. For Episode IV, the only major characters not on here are Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing, and perhaps Luke's aunt and uncle. It comes with a PSA/DNA LOA.

I just bought this. I haven't received it yet. What do you think?

I don't like that at all.
What exactly do you not like about it?
You are best getting Pete's opinion as he knows far more than me, but it is the Hamill that I don't really like.
Gotcha. I agree...Pete has the Force on his side. He's the man.

Some sloppy sigs, but it looks fine to me.

Thank, Mike. Yes, some are sloppy, but from what I've seen Harrison Ford's sig is usually not all that eye-appealing anymore. And Peter Mayhew tends to be sloppy, and George Lucas seems to have a pretty ugly autograph usually. I actually really like the overall look though. It's not some "manufactured" piece. And it's from the original Star Wars on an item from 1977.

Ford is hit or miss, though he does seem to be giving better stuff than he did 2-3 years ago.

Those sigs are all pretty recent, with the exception of Williams, probably signed in the last 2-3 years.

I am a very big Star Wars fan, but I haven't been a collector of their autographs. Is it true that Harrison Ford, George Lucas, John Williams, and maybe Peter Mayhew really didn't do many public signing events?

Looks fine. The Hamill and Fisher are likely from there most recent signings, likely since the last Celebration in Europe. Same can be said for Baker & Prowse both very modern graphs.

Ford and Lucas don't do public signings, but they sign in public.

John Williams has been doing a whole lot of refusing to sign in public.

and Peter Mayhew was at every and any show that would have him, for a long time, his size and disability make travel tough on him, but he does still do shows and public signings.

Thanks, Pete. You know I'm forever grateful to George Lucas for his brilliant creation and consider him a national and international treasure, but, man, he has an ugly autograph...although I guess that's not really his area of focus.
