Hello Ryelane, there isn't very much I like about this Marilyn signature. In my opinion it looks like an attempt to copy a Secretary signature. Did you get a chance to look at the RR Auction article that was mentioned earlier? I'm sending you a portion of the article that includes a Marilyn signature that looks very close to yours. Its the closest to yours that I could find. Please remember this my opinion and I encourage you to get more advice if you need it.

Hi. Yeah I had seen that article before. I thought my sig was very close to the contract versions highlighted in it. Especially the florid Ms at the beginning of each word. My version is very confidently executed. I also mentioned the way the "roe" lifted upwards towards the end of the dig. That checks out. As does the dot on the I. In the right place. Slightly offset and dragged a little. I'm in two minds. With only a slight slant, I am inclined to think it's a fraud. I don't think it matches the secretarial in the article. There's too many discrepancies. I got this sig from a house sale in Upstate NY. It was a page from a book which was also offering other autos from stars at the time. Jack Lemon, Shirley MacLaine, Debbie Reynolds....Marilyn did sign neatly in 1951 - 53 and didn't always personalise. When she did, she wrote her Christian name more often than not..... I don't subscribe to the view that 99 percent of everything on the market is fake. I think that view is promulgated by dealers trying to jack up prices. However, I am in two minds about my sig....... Thanks for the reply btw!
No problem, just trying to help. After comparing the 2 signatures at the same size,I'm convinced they are from the same hand.
I've got a feeling you're right about that! But I like the line on the webpage that suggests it's very convincing..... Always room for optimism! Let's hope that same hand is MM and can be proved so one day! Btw.... How about these? What do you think?

Kind regards

Keith

Steve Zarelli would be the one to ask about the Neil Armstrong signature. Either way, it's very difficult to see it clearly and certainly not a desirable medium on which to have his signature.
I agree, Steve Zarelli would be the one to check with and not a very good image. I will take a stab at it and say no good.
Cheers Robert

Here are some more bits and bobs.....

I'm pretty familiar with Marilyn Monroe autographs, and I don't believe it is real.

Hi Steve

Could you expand a little as to why you hold this view?

Regards

Keith

Sure, Ryelane,

In a general way, it looks like Marilyn Monroe's autograph and writing, but I found virtually no characteristics of her handwriting in the salutation or signature.

Now that's my opinion and observation. Others could have different ones.

Aaah! Shattered dreams!

Thanks

Keith
