Hi All,

This look good to you guys and gals? I see some problems. Seller says his dad got it working the tour which was in 1987/88 and a little in 1989. This disc seems to date to 1987 as the rest of the dates are not settled. In any event, I rarely listen much to sellers and stories but this signature seems quite a bit more recent in appearance and abbreviation to me - post C. 2000. Some slight slant/angle/formation/spacing/relationship oddness, perhaps even an odd placement? It appears an official Columbia promo - disc says "Demonstration Only". But is also looks like it might be a bootleg copy - the others I have seen images of are nowhere near this degraded with this moiré pattern and over contrasted look. If a bootleg I would have even more doubt about the signature. To me at any rate and in my opinion, perhaps nifty but too shifty - pass. Click to see proper image.

If we are talking price now, I've seen authenticated Gilmour Non-personalized CDs go for $400-600. Authentication from PSA/BAS costs $100. Id say if $300 is what initially sold for (initial auction closed early with starting bid at $200), $300 is very fair for both parties, considering this isn't as rushed as other sold CDs - especially most On an Island CD 'street graphs'

No, I was not really talking about price. I was responding your statement that many others would go for it. It was listed as you say at $200, then sold early at $300, and is listed again now as an auction with 5 days and no bids at $275. It doesn't mean very much. I have seen $1000 vintage-signed Bowie SP's close for $50.

The relisted price of $275 is fair. I could see it selling at that price or above, but as I mentioned his authentication prices are steep, so not a boat load of money to be made if the buyer wants to a quick flip, imo.

"...hence the sharpness on the sides..."

I was just saying the photo you posted that seller provided as better appears the same image as in the original auction but with different sharpness - lack of actually.

First I thought it´s a bootleg, but it is a rare official promo CD:

Signature looks not bad...or a good fake...not sure.

Corey, you have always the right comparsions! Unbelievable!

I agree - I see the points on both sides, I just choose to follow my instincts.

This is my replacement at a good price, much less. DVD. Promotional copy. Full signature. Seriously pleased. There are so many pre-prints that pass even the best,  as you know.

Very nice! ;-)
Hi Eric,I actually own the same signed DVD promo.

Hi Paul,
Thanks - that is a really nice example. Can you tell me anything more about these?

Hi Andreas, Thanks! ;)

E

They were signed at a radio station in Canada. He signed about 12 of them I was told.the seller worked for the radio station and witnessed the signings. They were stacked on top of each other when he signed.Look at yours on an angle and u should be able to see imprints of his signature right where he signed yours.I can clearly see at least 2 other signature imprints on mine. They were definitly stacked.

Thanks very much Paul. I appreciate the information. I really enjoy the version of Shine On there, both the acoustic start and the amazing conclusion on slide. Sounds like old times a bit.
