Musicians Who Sell Their Signatures In Shop.

We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.

You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.

Though I recall a member posting a blog asking about this a while ago, I could not relocate it for my purpose in this discussion.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

Sucks !!!ive got to pick mine up from the post office tomorrow as been stung for 12 pounds import merchandise charges !!im tempted to leave it there and call their bluff on a full refund .can i ask do you remember what time you placed your order with the site? I placed mine just before 6.30 am uk time . Saw the tip off email when i woke up just under 3 hours after it was sent . Thanks

Don't get too excited if you read the Invoice and customs labels before you look at the poster - it said on both the Invoice and Customs Labels 'Signed ' Poster...

I didn't want to create a confusing array of sub-topics, but this particular one seems like it might be the most useful.

I would imagine that for every 100 they sell (unsigned), only a small fraction probably complain or demand a refund. They play the odds, make extra money, and get away with it overall. Have an artist sign 10, sell 100 (90 unsigned), and maybe 30 people complain. They in effect sold 60 more than they would have, return a couple, and pocket the difference. Its fraudulent!

Genesis is offering a new book. Supposedly will have at least 9 of the mentioned sigs in it. A crap shoot at best for the high end signers. Approximately $900. 5000 numbered copies.
