Signed Elvis Presley Photograph : Authentic, or, simply secretarial ?

Hi,

  • I have the opportunity to purchase this item, from a good friend of mine.  His late grandmother collected signatures.  I have seen some of the collection, and it appears to me, that she corresponded with mainly musicians, in the late 50s, and early 60s.

He has this Elvis photograph.  My question is, is it authentic, or, simply some sort of secretarial signed item ?  He's asking $1200, for it.

  1. Thanks, in advance !!

Hello Timothy & welcome to the board.

Sorry to say that the signature you're showing us is a preprint.

It is not hand signed by Elvis It's not even live ink.

This specific signature has been produced probably over one million tmes.

No kidding.

I hope you and your friend remain friends.

But he is trying to sell you an item worth no more than 20 to 25 dollars tops.

Thank you, for response. Yes, we will remain friends.  He didn't know anything about it.  I greatly appreciate your willingness, to help !

My pleasure

Here you go Timothy:

Timothy, I left a "gap" between the two preprints in the overlay otherwise they'd not show! :-0

Don knows his Elvis!

Thank you, for both the response, and, effort.

My pleasure - tell your friend don't feel bad, these can be very convincing to the average untrained eye! That is why I had that image already made! It has come up before.

PS - The "OP" in the image I posted is not yours but a different photo with the same image.

PSS - Very smart to find us and ask BEFORE buying - often it is after! Bravo A+ good on you.
