Good morning everyone !

I wanted to show you guys this Ted Williams signed photo that was recently up for auction online at a lesser known auction site,  and this one didn’t come with a COA. Shows Williams in a Washington Senators uniform which is a part of his baseball history I was unaware of.

Was he a Player/Manager? I’m guessing towards the end of his career most likely. I can just google it I suppose but  Probably not the most popular of his pictures and didn’t even cross the $100 mark in auction.

so then, I wondered, is price low due to his lack of fan interest in his later Senators days,  or were bidders hesitating because the signature has some red flags I didn’t catch. if I could get some feedback on this signature I would very much appreciate it.  Looks pretty good to me but would love to know what the more seasoned vets of Williams’ signature identification/authentication thought. Many thanks as always, and talk to you all soon !

authenticity aside, the photo itself is not desirable, black and white, in a Senators uniform.  Color playing days photos (8x10) command more money.

As far as the signature goes, it could be authentic, but again, not a very desirable piece.

Thanks for your thoughts about not only just the authenticity of the autograph, but also the aspect of desirability of this piece.

A nice authenticated Ted Williams signed baseball could run you around $400 on some sites but not an end of career last hurrah in a foreign uniform to diehard fans. Thank you again for your input, i always appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences

Robert, you are correct about the app. price of a Williams signed baseball, but I have seen them cheaper from time to time.  Authentic photos of Williams in a Sox uniform are around 150.  Once in a while, you can find a bargain, I just got a really nice, unusual pose for 75 dollars.

You are right, there are some great deals on Williams once you separate the good from the fake.

here is the I bought reently for 75:

I think the signature is good.  Williams was the Senators manager from 1969-72.  He only played for the Red Sox.
