To me, the second looks better than the first one. The Leigh signatures I know all have a base line and the "V" uses to have a straight down stroke and a straight up stroke. It never seems to start with an up stroke and to Finish with a down stroke. That may happen from time to time, but the first example has both and no baseline.
The second has a baseline, but still that downstroke at the end. That needn't mean anything Bad, for the Rest looks fine to me, especially the lightly spread writing of the "igh" part. The first sig doesn't have that either.
Are they from the same source?
