So strange - I thought for sure I'd posted that one, but I can't seem to find it. Pretty good one to pick up in a any case.
yeah I actually posted it in Random signed Music on the 4th but that has always been the problem with that thread, what's Random to me might be something worthy of its own post to someone else so a lot of times I'm unsure where to post lol.
ah, I see that now. I always search within the thread and not the overall forum which would show this in the random post. Even I need to adapt to other ways of searching for stuff. Create a post on here and I will delete this one. I believe it shouldn't be just a random. People will miss it and you dont see many cds being sold for $11.98 these days
not a big deal, as long as the info gets out there and a lot of people might not see it in the random thread, like I said I'm always unsure where to post because the forum would get overrun if we posted everything we saw so it's just a guess when it's someone I've never heard of, which is most of them these days lol
To me, its more a matter of principal because of how I brought attention to the many off topic posts this morning. Ill be sure to search the thread as well as the overall forum going forward
yeah, I've never seen so many double posts and in the wrong category posts all clumped together like they have been the last couple of days, it's usually not a big deal when it's one here and there but it's been a lot. I actually understand both sides of it because I remember when I first started posting stuff and didn't know what I was doing, all the criticism made me not want to try, and now that I've been on here for a little while and sort of have it figured out I am finding myself sometimes getting aggravated when others make those same mistakes I was making lol. I remember getting mad when someone posted something I had posted earlier in the day and them getting thanked for something I found. and then I thought about it and getting credit for something really means nothing, as someone said we are all just trying to help, and unless they start a rule where after every so many good finds everyone has to buy you one then I don't care about getting the credit lol.
that would be ridiculous to have a credit system. We all have our own ways of monitoring different sites for autographs. Newbury for example, I only post if someone hasn't done it quick enough but I know as soon as items are dropped these days. Sure enough, as soon as I run here to post, its already done so I usually dont even bother trying anymore. A credit system would become a race to post just to get free stuff. everyone would be mad at each other and it would turn into chaos.
I'm excited when I find something new and want to post on here to keep this community going. Even if I'm aware about 50% of items at the time they are posted, there's another 50% I'm not aware of. I've scored a lot of big names outside of my own system and its nice to give back when I can. I just want to keep this great community going strong... I'm with you and feel credit is also meaningless, unless someone is blatantly trying to steal your thunder, in which case it becomes personal and it gets to you on another level. I've seen that first hand in the Bob Dylan posts. its hilarious but very frustrating when it happens
yeah, I was joking about the credit system and it would be pretty ridiculous, just saying that my first reaction was to feel like credit was stolen and then realizing that was kind of dumb lol, I often feel the same way when I or someone else post something and it immediately, and almost word for word shows up on both Redditt and Twitter and I wondered if that was one of our group doing it or an outsider stealing from us. again I guess it really doesn't matter because I like to think of this forum as our own little group that is trying to help our own, and maybe it used to be but it has grown way bigger than that at this point. sometimes I wish it was a smaller and more exclusive group but it is what it is.
