What the heck is it about this band? Only 7 posts on fb/instagram. No following on fb but over 50K on insta. Big release on Decca/Universal due in September. First single High in Brighton is not bad - a mix of Queen/Abba/Arcade Fire but to be honest not sure what to expect. A Headline gig in London has also just been announced next week...

The band's members are established and successful solo artists (which is why I put their names in the header), with Dodie being the biggest name. Her fan base alone can be attributed to the quick following on Instagram.

I am not disputing the above but I haven't heard any of their names. Established and successful solo artists in their own way I guess but not mainstream.

The bulk of the hype can probably more accurately be explained by Dodie's popularity alone. If she check her Instagram, she has over a million followers and just under a million on Twitter. She's not a household name, but she's had a big following for years. Hence why so many followed her new project so quickly.

Side note - I'm not sure how Greta and Martin sign, but Dodie and Orla both have very nice signatures.

Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but full disclosure that Dodie is among my favorite artists (saw her twice on the US tour last year). Love Orla as well. If I was in London (any anywhere within a few hours), I'd absolutely be there.
