Where...at Legends in Chicago?
Love Ride 22 in 2005

To BB's defense he loves to sign autographs. He has told me personally that his handlers (AKA his family) do not like him sigining. He said " they cant stop me from signing off the stage". The best way to secure yourself a BB autograph is to buy a ticket to a show.

T.A.E.

I've met my fair share of interesting celebrities. Most of the people I have met, I didn't even bother to ask for an autograph, because it was a chance encounter. I've met and talked with Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, Lou Diamond Phillips, Drew Carey...some NASCAR stars, with Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Kasey Kahne, Junior Johnson, Tony Stewart...a pulitzer prize winner, the late Gwendolyn Brooks, NFL stars with Desmond Howard, Billy Sims, Barry Sanders, Joe Montana, the late Johnny Unitas, Gale Sayers, Joe Namath...I have met various members of the Detroit Red Wings.. All have been memorable moments. I'm reminded of how generous Orlando Bloom took the time to stick around, to make sure the digital picture, my wife took of Orlando and I, turned out well. That really stuck out in my mind. This was done with hundreds of screaming fans at Disneyland for the first ever "red carpet" premiere of the movie, "Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl" If there was ever such a celebrity, alive or dead...who I would have loved to meet on a chance encounter...hands down, it would have to be The Doors' very own James Douglas Morrison, aka The Lizard King.
Jim~ WOW! losts of Hollywood A-listers there =)
thank you for the great tip about Orlando Bloom caring about his fans...
how was Drew Carey, if i may ask? he's the new price as right host, lol.
and cool choice about if you could meet anyone living or dead, the Doors are definetly music legends.
Drew was cool. We (my wife and I) were eating at the very first original Big Boy right nearby the NBC Studios and as we were leaving to pay our bill. The cashier had told us that Drew Carey was sitting right behind us. So we looked back at our seats, and lo and behold, there was Drew. I asked the cashier for something he could write on. She ended up giving me a blank cashier receipt with the Big Boy logo emblazoned right on it. I walked up to Drew. I politely asked if he could spare some time to chat. He looked at me and said, "Sure!" He was without his trademark glasses, which is likely why I didn't recognize him in the first place!!!!!! I had a very lengthy chat and he signed the receipt thing for my wife.. He was playing a game on his laptop which looked like the popular game, "The Sims" and he also had a plate of fries that were ketchup'd to death.. (which is interesting because this happened a while after he had that scary heart surgery)...
does anyone have a celeb encounter that they would like to share, that the celeb (s) would not sign? for example~ Bill Murray etc.
tommy lee jones and john c reilly are the toughest hollywood autographs to get in my personal opinion, john c reilly is a major dhead and will usually only sign a certain playbill that he did when he was on broadway, he doesnt even like to take pictures. tommy lee jones could be the worst he didnt sign a single autograph for us when he was filming in minnesota we even talked to his wife and she asked him if he would sign for us and he told her no im not signing for them, woody harrelson and bill murray also can be dheads, woddy made me name 5 of his movies in order for me to get his autograph, i tried to hand him a poster from natural born killers and he said whoa now that is going to cost you 10 movies, i then said fine and handed him an index card and he signed it, bill murray will tell you that you are a creeper if you ask for his autograph, my friend saw him in minnesota cause he is the owner of the st paul saints and walked up to him inside of a hotel, and it was only him and murray in the lobby, and murray said i knew you were a creeper the second i laid my eyes on you, he did sign this year at sundance and i think one of the reasons is because i started talking talking with him about the saints. for whatever reason a lot of comedians are very tough autographs to get or judt dont like taking the time, a couple of others are steve martin, jim carey, will ferrell, steve carell. for whatever reason they just dont like the whole autograph thing
have you ever tried Kathy Griffin, or Carrot Top [comedians] for autographs, either thru the mail or inperson?
I've met BB King 5 times. He is beyond a shadow of a doubt the nicest autograph signer I have ever met. I have talked to him and taken a photo with him. He did sign my book from the stage after a show in February this past year.

However, since he is now over 80 years old and doesn't get around as well as he used to, he has become a tougher autograph. I did wait for him once after a show two years ago, and where he always used to let his fans on his bus to get autographs, he did not that night. I have failed to get his autograph on occasion. So he's not as active as he used to be. I believe he gets tired easily now, and his handlers are going to be protective of him. So give the man a break. He's probably signed millions of autographs in his life. I think he deserves a rest.
BB King, cool! i have a friend who was friends with him in the early days... thanks for sharing your great experience :-)
Some of the most successful autograph experiences I have had in the past couple of years... Mark Wahlberg, Pamela Anderson, James Gandolfini, Marcia Gay Harden, Jeff Daniels.

The last 3 were after a Broadway performance of God of Carnage. Of the whole cast, Gandolfini, Harden, and Daniels signed for everyone. However, Hope Davis snuck past us and signed for no one. The least famous of the 4 cast members wound up stiffing us.

Meeting Gandolfini... definitely my favorite of that list. His autograph wasn't more than a JG, but it was cool nonetheless.
