PSA encapsulated a Macca SoCal forgery and graded it “Gem Mint 10.” JSA authenticated a full set of Joe Long Beatles forgeries. Beckett turned an LP containing a full set of Neil Aspinall secretarials into a Macca signed LP. Which of those seems the least ridiculous to you?

Adding unto what BallroomDays67 said, all authenticators have mistakes. Specifically with autographs of The Beatles it's widely known that there are far more forgeries than authentic ones, and therefore if you're collecting Beatles stuff, I'd suggest sticking only to this forum.

But again, even if you go into collecting other artists / celebrities, all authenticators have mistakes. It depends on the item at question, and you should do your research about the item and signature, before trusting the authentication company. I'm not saying that the companies are 'redundant', I'm just saying that they are a business as all businesses are, and they probably can't 'research' each and every signature in-depth, like us collectors can.

For me, I'd say that the best authenticator out there by far is AutographCOA.

It’s true that mistakes are inevitable, but they shouldn’t be set in stone. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be much interest in correcting them as far as the big three are concerned. Two out of the three items I mentioned have already been sold, while the third is currently on eBay for $7,500. If it sells at that price, the combined amount these items sold for will be close to $25,000.

Yeah, there's nothing really we can do about it other than posting the item for others to be warned. We can contact JSA but it's up to them to decide what to do about it.

AutographCOA is the best in this regard, by the way. I've seen their CEO post about authentication errors in the RACC group.
