Here we go with another incompetent Authentication service.  Isn't this Judy Garland Forgery Obvious?  This is expected from GAI , but WHO is STAT?

STAT Authentic is Coach's Corner's largest autograph authenticator and even worse than GAI. While you will find some genuine autographs authenticated by STAT, they're few and far between.

A few questions: why are so many of these lots out-of focus? Why do these descriptions stink on ice? Why does virtually every piece authenticated by the notorious Christopher Morales sell for 10% of its true value, including original Picasso paintings? Perfect Babe Ruth balls? Julius Caesar's spleen?

What kind of dopes are buying this garbage, and where does it go after they buy it? Is it being resold? I for one can tell you it's not coming here, so who's pumping their money into it? The thousands of little crappy autograph and card stores nationwide? Sooner or later, it will resurface, the buyers will learn the awful truth, and thousands of potential collectors (and clients for me) will disappear from the hobby (and market).

How do you spell CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?

Justin Priddy has ACE www.autographcertificationexperts.com. He used to be GAI's authenticator and has a reputation as a rubber stamper.

I could tell you MILLION stories of having to fight the old GAI team over his Rubber Stamp actions. Thankfully, ebay does NOT take him seriously....Anyone who owns a Justin Priddy GAI item should have it rechecked with PSA and Steve Sipe at Global Authentics. If it is real, Steve will correct the problem.

I agree with you. Many of his repeat customers are forgers.

btw who is TTA certified as in Ted Turner who has signed off on Beatles, Dimaggio, Ruth and even an Einstein not to mention the 3 stooges.  Is this where you go Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk!

 

speaking of scheme - how can anyone buy anything that has Morales on it?  Only in Coach's Corner!  A "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and it is only up to $171.00 in thier 1/1/11 auction! 

Here is a This next-to-impossible to find item is a black laced vintage baseball, cubed in EX condition overall, and hand signed in blue ink by 4 of the famed "Eight Men Out", Happy Felsch, Eddie Cicotte, Buck Weaver and "Shoeless" Joe Jackson! The signature grade 5's-6's each, with all on panels and none residing on a sweet spot, and all four come certified by forensic science expert Chris Morales! AWESOME baseball.

In some cases when the shoe fits they have to wear it.    BTW, I've called out Steve Grad on occassion for his botched effort on a mult-signed item that he went stealth on when presented with provenance.  Does that make him a bad authenticator?  No, but it certainly didn't instill confidence in me no matter what Cyrkin says.  likewsie, did they remedy my issue, Yes and did the announce that they did it - no.  And I suspect that is what goes on when they make there errors more often than not.

 

You have continually called out PSA for their mistakes with the speculation that the mistakes are tenfold yet you have been unable to demonstrate it nor even produce them in numbers.  Rez, on the other hand has indicated he could produce 999 to every one mistake you would present on another thread.

 

If you get a full LOA it will have the authenticator named or as in R&R's auctions they also list the PSA/DNA authenticator on their pre-certs (and everyone knows how/what I feel/think about pre-certs).

 

however, to my way of thinking there is no comparisons to the Morales,ACE COA's and Stats but then again when you look at those bidding on items at Coach's Corner there are also alot of "idiots" out there that don't give a rat's riddly rear end on what's authentic.   To make matter's worse there are authentic items (e.g. the babe ruth ball discussed in another thread) out there but one just has to find them.

and Travis don't this the wrong way as it is good you have passion for this and if ever I needed a 2nd opinion on boxing I suspect I know who I am coming to but also trust they do remedy some oversights but they don't make an announcement when they do.

Sorry, but if you actually think that ACE and GAI are no different than PSA/DNA and JSA, you must be looking at autographs on a different planet. ACE and GAI don't hold a candle to them.

  I would have to agree with Steve and even  add that Travis's opinion indicates mostly speculation, and no Real objective tracking or analysis.
