came across this site and noticed the  statements below.  The prices seemed to be on the high end and aside from his own company COAs there is quite abit with JSA & PSA/DNA.  Unfortunately, I can't recommend the Hestons below for obvious reasons that are currently depicted but hopefully they will be gone soon.   Anyone have any other experiences?

"Scott personally works with each customer to ensure they understand the authenticity of each item. Scott is a firm believer in authenticity and he will only sell what he knows to be 100% authentic. Every piece of autographed memorabilia is purchased directly from the source and Scott will explain in detail the origin of each item contained in his store.

Scott is also a consultant for James Spence Authentication."

and we can add this imo $730 Jackie Gleason Secretarial from PSA/DNA (thanks to the VanderHoven, wherever you are hiding!)

or $2000.00 cast picture.  Imagine the "authorized agent" ruining a cast picture!

certainly not Paul Hewson and a credit card number to boot!

Description - This is a credit card slip autographed by great musician Bono from the band U2. He signed his rare full name Bono Yvertes. Comes with a certificate of authenticity from Cardboard Memories. Gauranteed to psaa PSA/DNA or JSA.

Pretty spectacular incompetence there in multiple ways!  Poor Bono Yvertes (whoever that is) is probably wondering why his CC bill got run up.

Holy cow, man.  10 seconds on Wikipedia would have averted this.  I posted before about how it seems like sports autograph dealers who try dabbling in celebrity autographs usually fall pretty solidly on their face.  I can't think of a better example than this.

The restaurant where this was processed ought to loose their MC account for allowing this receipt to be released...  But Bono from either Amagansett or Bridgehampton NY ought to be really really annoyed with this one..

I suppose there's always the possibility that this is some kind of inside joke or disgruntled employee, which is about the closest thing to an excuse I can think of.

But then I reread this:  Scott personally works with each customer to ensure they understand the authenticity of each item. Scott is a firm believer in authenticity and he will only sell what he knows to be 100% authentic. Every piece of autographed memorabilia is purchased directly from the source and Scott will explain in detail the origin of each item contained in his store.

Whatever.

The credit card had an expiration date of January 1989.

so that makes it ok to sell then?

a cc paper transaction is a secure/private transaction between the patron, the restaurant & the card processor especially since the account number which doesn't necessarily expire -vs- an expiration date on a card.

I'm with you DB!

This reminds me of the time I found an item from a major auction site that had the SS# of a former President fully shown for the wold to see.

I understand that these items get out into the hobby. Still, it's the job of the vendor to make sure that the information is protected.

In this day and age, it's hard telling what this type of information can be used for.

It's good to see that the dealer did the right thing :)

at least with the non "bono" offering but the non-authentic hestons and gleasons are still up for sale.

glad you guys  are having soo much fun   i am not an expert on non sports hence psa stuff   i have been working hard to make sure for many years that people can buy good autos  if you feel it neccesary to bash someone who really cares about what he does  then go have your party...  im one of the good guys   as far as that bono   you are correct that was an error that was never removed that a former employee listed it will be removed

Glad to hear... we need more good guys.  While your removing the bono, I'd also suggest the Hestons and Gleason as well.  claiming to be a good guy is one thing but simply believing if it's "certified it must be authentic" will lead you down the wrong road.  Being a "consultant" as claimed for JSA I would think you would also know better.

Only time tells what road we are on.
