Next weekend is the Wizard World Chicago Con. Across the street, at the same time, is the Flashback Weekend horror con.

Some neat guests in the mix - William Shatner, Stan Lee, John Carpenter, etc.

If anyone decides there's any autograph they want/need from the show, let me know. I'll be bumming around there most of the weekend and could handle some requests if needed. Many, but not all of the guest prices are listed. Unfortunately, I cannot be 100% certain which items will be available to sign.

Just throwing it out there, as neither show seems to have a pre-order service.

What is Stan Lee charging?  He used to sign through the mail but stopped about 7 months ago.

$55.  And I think he's a expected to have quite a line, though he'll be there for 3 days.  The presale tickets sold out.

I'm hoping Stan comes to NY in October.  By the way, that's a real generous offer Rich.

Wow, rough year for Wizard World Chicago.  FIFTEEN cancellations.

wanna pi$$ off Linda Blair?  Go for a camera shot w/o paying the $25.00 fee for the picture.  It does go to her animal shelter cause so it's all good.    But if you don't know that it advance it's a trip!  She is fashionably late, seems to hate these shows, very mechanical like while not very embracing and such a tiny tike!

Ha!  I actually did take a pic with her at Wizard World (for said $25 fee) a couple years back.  I seem to remember her showing up late to that too.

hasn't changed.   U should have heard some of the dealers pi@@ and moan about the picture fee that seemed to cascade over to the "collectors".  She has the personality of a plant at least at the show I attended!

I'd love the 5 captains but only 2 are showing up!   Maybe I can get a real cheap one on coach's corner.

I have some great shots of her while signing but when she recognizes that a camera is about to shoot up goes the hand.

She certainly didn't seem like one of the warmer personalities I met that day.  Sounds like she might be the female version of Ferrigno when it comes to these signing events.

as long as her head doesn't start spinning around, it's all good!

I met Linda Blair a number of times and she is usually pleasant, chatty and never rushes anyone. Nor does she like to be rushed. Her line takes forever because she likes to talk. At least her photo fee goes to charity whereas most just go in the pocket. Stan Lee had a very long line in Philly. You needed to purchase a ticket ahead of time to even get in the line. You cannot just get in line when he is there. No ticket, no autograph. He also does not like flash photos, so you have to snap one off while in line or sign up to pay for the photo op. Most of the big names will not do photo's with, as Wizard World pushes the photo Ops. Unless you want to pay up for the photo Op, I suggest you snap them off while the person is signing or in Stan's case, as you get close. Just giving you a heads up ahead of time.

turn the flash off.  Patrick Stewart is the same.  Some signers also mistake the "signing" of the photo as a photo op.  One handler had to correct that perception... ferget which signer it was at the moment.

Good to hear that Blair is not always so mechanical although in 2 out of 3 cases it seemed to be that way.  I hear ya on the charity however when you add the $25.00 to her signing fee of $50.00 (I'd have to look it up as there was a scale but that is the number sticking in the headset) it can get pretty expensive even if she can spin her head around ;-)

Starting to see the push for photo ops which becomes a pain especially if you are in along line & they have to break for the photo op!

It's very frustrating at Wizard World. They break for photo Ops, lunch, panels, etc.. You could be on line and they just shut it down and then you may have to wait hours for them to come back and set up again. My daughter had to go back the next day because they cut the Stan Lee line and he wasn't going to come back for 3 hours if at all. And if you think $25 is bad, Patrick Stewart who you mentioned was $100 for a photo Op and he was far from the only one. Hemsworth was $100 for a 8 x 10, $150 for anything else and another $100 for the photo Op. This is for a guy who is so nice he will sign anything on the street for free and take a photo with you if you are lucky enough to see him. He was all over NY when the Avengers and Snow White came out and couldn't be nicer. Wizard World is great for collectors around the country with limited access to celebrities, but they are going to and have already taken pricing to another level. That said, there was no shortage of people lining up to pay it.
