I was wondering if we could compile a comprehensive thread of real Heath Ledger signatures. I know he's real tough because his signature had variations towards the end of his life. Please post any in person or confirmed authentic examples you've got, and share any traits we should be looking for when authenticating.
I'm afraid I have nothing to offer but my request. I can copy and paste stuff from AW or RR, but that'd be cheating!

I have been watching 'thetruebatman1' for awhile now. That seller has been listing bad graphs of all types including the heath's for some time.
That is the one I bought from Press Pass who I have bought from in the past and who basically only sell items certified by either PSA/DNA or JSA. Thus, while I cant 100% say its Ledger I 1) feel way more confident that it is him due to the source and the authentication and 2) have no doubt I can get my money back out of it down the road if need be. Also, I compared it to some of the signatures on this study and elsewhere prior too buying it. To me, while rushed it resembles many of the first 4 signatures posted but in particular the 2nd one posted of him on the skateboard also certified by PSA/DNA.
I have yet to see a Heath Ledger signed Joker photo come up on Ebay certified by either JSA or PSA, they are all Brokeback Mountain or earlier. I'm not saying they don't exist but I haven't seen on yet. And the fact that whoever is signing the "Chicago Post Office" ones also signed many photos that were released after his death tell me those with that particular signature are all fakes.
As far as Heath Ledger Joker pictures that could be signed,
people who believe there was only around 2 images that were available. Are we forgetting this huge thing called the internet where images get leaked all the time? Its obsurd to think Heath didnt sign many. He never turned away an autograph thats why he got lazy and started to squiggle because even if he didnt have time to do a proper autograph, he would make the effort to leave the fan with something. He loved his fans, shame he didnt care about his own life, but he was truly amazing as the joker. He had finished filming the entire Dark knight film, the only thing he didnt do was the voice over for the fine editing to the film as he died while they were doing it.
As far as pictures of heath of the joker, take a look at this,
http://www.moviefanatic.com/gallery/another-joker-pic/
have a look at the dates, i think there are about 5 pictures all from 2007 ;)
if you see any one of those pictures signed, it may very well be genuine.
I also did manage to get my hands on a "screener" version of the DArk Knight film before it even came out in cinemas.
its very hard to authenticate a heath signature as towards the end, he did not make much effort in signing.
its about trusting your own judgement.
some of those that have been authenticated by psa, i wouldnt touch simply because heath always made the "H" look like a star, not a slur. It wouldnt have surprised me if heath, had he lived, shortened his autograph to just the "H" in the star form.
This is my opinion and this what i believe to the knowledge that i know. I do hope this helps people as well :)
The images were just not there (on the internet). Things have really changed over the years and now photos are available much quicker. Plus, nobody thought he was going to die so there was no panic rush to try and get him on Batman photos.
And I don't know what Heath Ledger you met but the one I know hated to sign.
i met him once, on my version of "the hangover" trip to the USA.
he was polite, held a conversation and helping to judge a fashion contest thing at the time..
" The images were just not there(on the internet) "
have you not clicked on the link and seen what date those pictures were added? all from 2007,its hard evidence that there were more pictures around than people want to believe.
I agree he did not like being hounded for autographs and alot of celebs are wise to the fact that dealers are aggressive to make a quick few £££$$$ out of them but he would sign to those who were his fans. I mean if i was a celeb and i knew a dealer was there just to get my signature to get a few quid, id tell him where to shove it and get a real job, so the fans can have something for free and would mean something to them and would keep it. I mean ive been at premieres where theres a hoard of grown men fighting to get autographs to sell on and there been one fan, waiting his whole life for that opportunity to meet and get an autograph and made the effort to line up but got bullied out the way and got nothing. Christian bale did this recently at the dark knight rises european premiere and saw what happened and pulled away from the hoard and gave this kid a signed piece. that got my respect.
I looked at the link but it is irrelevant. All that matters is what images were available at the time when we were printing photos to get signed by Heath and there were only two at the time.
are you for real?
those images are from 2007.
they were posted on the website in 2007.
its quite possible someone could have printed them, got them developed and had them signed.
the link is very relevant and there were more than 2 pictures of heath as the joker before he died. that website alone is enough to prove beyond unreasonable doubt.
heath could have signed an autograph a day before his his death, so basically any pictures that were released and leaked on the internet prior to january 2008 could be the genuine article.
The only proof is the date on that site and those are low resolution photos anyway. If anyone would have used them they would look awful at 8x10 and 11x14 inches.
Again, when we were printing photos back in that time they were not out there or we would have printed them and got them signed. Simple as that. Ask any legit in-person collector and they will tell you the same thing.
i am a legit in person collector... thats how i get all mine.
i do not buy them from any dealer and those photos are on a database and tbh i think i know more about batman than you. its something i have a wealth of knowledge in that field.
the photos were out there, you was looking in the wrong places if you never found them. dont always rely on google to find images.
and as for resolution, who cares as long as its signed?
Who cares about resolution? Too funny. If only low resolution photos were available they would look horrible at 8x10 and 11x14. Yet all the bad heaths are always perfect resolution 8x10s and 11x14s.
I too collect in-person and so do my employees. Been at for a loooong time. Longer than most.
We rarely rely on Google for images and back in 2007 it was much less reliable than now. Just like most IP collectors we have manged to get access to sites where we probably do not belong with images not found elsewhere.
Those pictures were posted December 2007 and he died January 2008. And wasn't he in the UK right before he came to NY? For the longest time people were referencing two images (primarily the face one against the black background) because those are the only ones that surfaced that actually looked authentic. If they are out there, let's see them. But that's a big if, because no one has seen them.
