Hi,

I'm very interested to hear your opinions about this. I have had this Eastwood autograph for 20 years now. It was purchased at a place called Anitquities Ltd. in Atlanta, GA (not sue if they're still around). They provided their own COA, which may be meaningless.

From what I can tell, the signature is consistent on several levels, such as the length of the "d". What makes me skeptical, however, is the crossing of the "t" in "Eastwood", which is normally done with the upper swoop of the "E", not as a separate line as it is here. However, Clint did sign his name with a separate crossed "t" when he was younger, but this doesn't appear to be from that period. I did find a more current example where he had done this, so I'm wondering if it's possible he missed the "t" with the capital "E" and decided to add it separately? Lastly, the autograph does not appear as condensed as his usual authentic sig is. I understand that the lengthier ones are typically secretarials.

Verdict?

Im not sure about Clint's signature from 20 years ago but I got one in person in 2008 in NYC where the first & last names were kind of squished together.  He was rushing so maybe that's why.

I do not think this is authentic. the reference angle of the E to the C is not correct.

Sorry to say IMHO that the signature is not even close to being an

authentic example of Clint Eastwood's signature.

Bill, sorry, but definitely not good in my opinion.

Such a bummer! Like I said, I was very skeptical. Unfortunately, this was purchased in the days before the Internet, so it was much harder to check these things on our own back then.

Any other opinions are certainly welcome (especially those that may differ!).

Thanks to those who offered their insights!

Sorry the pic is so small and grainy but this an in person Eastwood signed about 2 or 3 years ago...I know autos usually change over the years but I would think the other members are correct on it if they feel its no good...
