On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

I'm sure there is or will be a big meeting on how to handle this.   With Branca (head of Estate) having written the forward to the book that was basically the advertising to this auction lot, they are going to have to figure out how to separate themselves from the mess.  lol

BTW, the boys who were threatened by J and T for lawsuits, please let us know if you get anything from either.  I doubt at this time you'll get anything though... since J will most likely want this kept as low as possible.  And T, well - whatever... lol

So, I know the estate is tied in, but how could they know Bush was a fraud. They probably didnt even look at the items signed.  Surely all they have to say is- we had no idea..... right?

Right, I am not assuming they knew.  Just that now, they're kind of tied into the "mess" of the end result.

I guess, everyone has to meet and get their PR together before statements are made.

I think they should invite us..... we could sit on the outside quietly, as long as we can all share popcorn and listen in. lolol It could get entertaining. :)

I really was (am) assuming that Waldo was asking each time for the standee's date of manufacture.  But I truly don't know.  I'm also taking into account Steve's mention that he has received no response from Bravado.  Also taking into account my general life experience of the society in which we live.  I really do want to be optimistic that Felix and Bravado will do the correct, ethical thing and speak the factual truth.
Holding on for hope here (against the odds).

MJ-fan-1965, please have optimism for the both of us, yes?

p.s. - Michelle's 4 questions were most thorough.  Seem effective in closing any loop holes.  Am I missing the answers she received, or have they not been posted?  Thanks.

Michelle's  bravado email??  (Felix'  answer is at the top)  You need to click the photo to enlarge

His answer is at the very top of the email....

Ah! I see thanks.

The standee pictured was manufactured after Mr. Jackson passed away.

Succinct.  And CLEAR.

So Felix told both Michelle and Justin that the standee was manufactured after MJ died.

yep yep :))

Justin's email was perfect. He asked the right questions and presented them well.
