Hello everyone, this is my very first post. I'm from Brazil and I have three LPs autographed by Roger Waters in person to me (Darkside of the Moon, The Wall and The Final Cut), when he came to Brazil and I ran across the country to find him. Well, Pink Floyd is my favourite band of all times and I want to get Gilmour's and Mason's autographs as well, but I don't want to buy them, I'd rather travel somewhere and get 'em myself... Does anyone have any kind of hint/advise that could help me? The problem is, as they are not on the road I have no idea from where I could begin looking... I don't think Gilmour would appreciate some brazilian guy in front of his house (that I don't know where it is, by the way) asking for an autograph...

Well, now I will talk a bit about my experience with mr Waters: First, he is very nice and kind with his fans. First time I met him it was at the airport, when he was going from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo in 2007. I was 18 and I got really nervous, so I couldn't say much, altought we were alone in the airport. But he took a picture with me and signed my DSOTM \o/ After just one minute he left. Second time was this year, he came to my city (Porto Alegre) but I couldn't manage to find him, because he only arrived here on the day of his concert and didn't stop in a hotel, 'cause he was in a private jet and left just after the concert. But I flew to Rio de Janeiro and my girlfriend googled a lot and could manage to discover in which hotel he was. So we were patient and waited in front of the hotel for some 4 hours. So his security/bodyguard talked with us (more 10 people showed up), and we made a queue line and he autographed one item per person. Then he autographed my The Wall and The Final Cut (for my gf).

Well, I hope I can help someone with my experience and hope someone can help me a bit on the search for my 2 missing autographs, as long Rick's and Syd's I'll never be able to get ='(

Ouch - I know that this is the answer you wrote on my post that I decided to delete because I wanted to write it differently (and in better way) in new day. So sorry for possible confusion. :)

As I said - in fact I do not think that this is selfish. You know, when your friends see the success, they think that its very easy thing - you knew the hotel, you got it, but they dont know about the failures, they dont know about the time what you "threw away" there etc. You were there for hours just for getting sign which takes 20 seconds... Sometimes I have a feeling that they think that its just about that 20 seconds, which is not. They see the result, not what preceded to it. As I said - I hate the "responsibility for others failure". All I can do is to support them in trying the same thing as me. Some of my friends things that I have some "secret information" which I dont want to tell them.... Its rubbish. I have to find it out by standing there for..... XYZ hours... And then - when Im succesfull, why should I tell them where they are as "golden nugget"?  I have no reason for that, aside from my respect to privacy of the artists. Everyone can do the same thing as me / you, everyone should know that their can be success but also the failure. And I want that failure to be mine and only mine, or how it goes with my friends from these actions - they take it absolutely the same as me, they understand that its not event "organized" by me. That makes a huge difference. Others are waiting "ok you we will go there with you, we will wait and then we will get the signs.... " - its not working that way and its hard to explain. I hope that its understandable :)

I think that Nick is far more realistic than David. I heard he is good signer and he is not chased by hunters as much as David.

=] I'll try to get Nick, it's as important as Dave's or Rogers'.

Actually on the 20076 Gilmour tour...CROSBY was running interference Security watxch for Gilmour. Corsby is a miserable autographer--and MEAN about it.  He has NOT been cool about it since about 1993

Great thread.  Pink Floyd is probably my favorite band as well.  I have two RWs... one on a large DSTOTM canvas (see my user image) and one on the limited edition oversized lithograph that is in your user image.

Like you, I have racked my brain trying to figure out how to get Gilmour on a PF item... then get Roger and Nick.  Never attempt the reverse as I have heard Gilmour has actually crossed out Waters signature on items before he signs them.  As someone mentioned above however, I don't think he signs PF stuff at all anymore period.

My best idea was to write his management company a letter and offer to donate a few hundred dollars to his charity in exchange for a signature.  I haven't tried it yet but this is his fan mail address I think...

David Gilmour

EMI Records UK
27 Wrights Lane
London W8 5SW'
UK

This next address MIGHT be his home.  It is listed as a secondary address for fan mail...

David Gilmour
One Fifteen
1 Globe House
Middle Lane Mews
London N8 8PN
UK

Best of luck on your quest.  And for the record...

Waters > Gilmour      :-)

Nick Mason last time i saw him in person refused to sign anything i think he has gone same way as Gilmour these days!
