I was at my local record shop and I found this Autogrpah pic. Is it real or fake?

I don't know Metallica signatures at all, but it appears that these signatures were signed in the same hand.

Are u sure

It sure looks like it.  I'm also not sure that blue paint pens were even around in the mid 80's.

Again, I don't know Metallica signatures, but I don't think this is real.

Hi rich thanks

There are some people on this forum that know just about everything about Metallica autographs.  I'm sure they'll chime in soon.

Hi Shamim,

I hate to report it, but these are pretty bad fakes. The signatures dont match Metallica signatures from any time frame i am aware of. And they look slowly drawn and all in the same hand. Wait for more replies, but i feel confident that these are fakes.

Thanks carol. Are u. Sure it's signed in pant pen

These are not genuine Metallica autographs. I have not seen these kind of autographs before, so I can't say where they come from, but they are for sure not genuine.

Do u belive it is $100 dollers?

Im not a big expert on metallica signatures but I have looked a lot of them that were professionally reviewed and I have studied them some as im looking to add metallica to my collection, One that that I have noticed in authentic metallica signatures, is that Lars either doesn't or very rarely signs his last name, the same with James Hetfield, Many times james will sign his Name "Jamez" As others noted, these seem to appear to be have signed slowly, Not that this means anything, but I don't feel many hard rock bands are real slow and meticulous about their signatures.

its 100% not legit.

This piece actually deserves more discussion.  I have been collecting for 10 years and these infact are very close to their original signatures from 82-83.  While they are written "tight" when comparing these to other signatures from the same time, they look very close and infact, I think that the thick marker may be why they look similar.  For that era, they are the right look.  All the guys were still writing their name fully at that time and there are lots of things like the way Kirk's TT's flow and James "TF" combo in his last name among other things... don't count this one out and if someone is selling it for $100, they may not know what they have!  Sometimes you just get lucky like that! I was lucky enough to get the "holy grail" of metallica signed items, the 83 8.5x11 from the fan club signed for only $500... I'd like to see more pics of this one!
