AutographLive will be buggy tonight while we test code we're developing for it. Everything should work fine within the next 3-5 hours.

(I wrote this at 7 PM PST.)

I have had a very good few weeks but am getting really tired now as the 18 hr shifts of hunting are wearing me down but problem is in UK summer is gigs galore.

And to add to all this many IN Person dealers are giving me grief for writing on here some people think its all hush hush getting a signature lol

Anyway I come from a Very Classic Melodic Rock Background but also love My Metallica and Guns and Roses, Deep Purple, Whitesnake bands etc .

But I also for some reason like some country music too with Garth Brooks been my favourite but I have never ever met him , I don't even think he has ever been to the UK !!

Anyway I have met good Ken many times last time been about 5 years ago.

I have to say he is the Nicest person ever I want him for my granddad he is the best example of a good human being.

We walk up early approx 6 am and set off to go to another city in the UK burmingham the centre of England for the simple reason In Manchester now too many people travel up and it has become a feeding ground for strange people who will get anyone and I mean anyone 90% of them don't even know who their are getting a photo with till after its done, Some right weirdos are coming out lately its like Graffs World war Z.

Two of us only seem to be out and we done some serious miles on the clock and we spend 6 hours driving round and round every hotel , I was on the Dog and Bone (Telephone) Almost 2 hrs trying to figure out were he was staying tried loads of names but there was not joy, The reason I had to make tones of calls was cause he was in a car and the car was at the stadium and would only turn up to collect him late in the evening usually approx 20:00 as Kenny never soundchecks.

We were getting very tired by now and at 17:15 I manage to find him he was staying out of town and we were told the band and crew were checking out at 18:00 so it was a race against time to try and make it through the freeway in rush hour traffic.

We arrive at about 17:55 and there was nothing we thought maybe we were too late, Usually when you wait and you don't see nothing you start to think a million things you start to go crazy the only thng that kept us there was now the past experience were I knew he never departs his hotel before 20:00.

Time was now my enemy and I was worried it was a no show as it was almost 20:00 and usually cars turn up 20 to 30 minutes before so they can check out etc.

At exactly 20:01 a black Box Van arrives , I felt excited as it looked like this could be it and yes within 5 minutes Kenny walked out the hotel, He look at the 3 of us as some german girl drove over from Germany for him and she only found him as we told her felt sorry for her as she would not have found it otherwise.

He walked over to us and signed 3 items per he was very polite and kept thanking us and spend 2 minutes chatting with us.

We decided to drive back to Manchester and on route I begun to make more calls and try and find him were he would stay , I knew he had to travel after the gig as he was doing Breakfast tv at 7am.

I found the hotel so we drove up and waited minutes felt like hours and hours like days at that point and at approx 01:20 he arrived we approached politely and he asked us if it would be ok to only sign 1 item each as he was tired and he would only sleep around 4 hrs, We said one is more than enough and thanked him once again for his time .

I walk up at 6am again and tried him when he returned from the breakfast tv show were he signed most of the stock I had and spoke with kind words thanked us , which is weird as its us who are actually the gratefull ones but this person is so well mannered that you wish him everything he could ever have.

Its not too often you meet people like Kenny Rogers but when you do its a nice feeling it makes you remember that there are descent human beings out there and he is right at the top of that mountain !!

Great story Jason!

Hope you get to meet Garth someday.  Super nice man.

I love hearing your stories from the road. Thanks for sharing.

Great story Jason.  I had a similar experience when I met Willie Nelson at the Beacon Theatre and I asked him to sign my ticket stub.  A true gentleman.
