Robert Plant - Signed Led Zeppelin 4 LP. Do you think this piece is authentic or fake ?

Just wondering if you guys think this Zeppelin autographed Robert Plant LP is real or fake ? The seller claims he got it signed at the Sage Gateshead during Robert's Band Of Joy tour in 2010. What do you all think, any opinions would be appreciated & reasoning for why you think it looks real or is fake ? Cheers & Thanx !

Agree with all that Josh said except the not signing Zep stuff in the last 5 years. Not true. He either signs or he doesn't, but he doesn't really fuss over what he signs. It's all situational and if he's down for signing in that instance. I do think that a bunch of middle aged schlubs, standing outside the hotel, holding Zep II and IV vinyl in their hands (and of course multiple copies of each!) will help him decide NOT to stop. But I would pass on this too. At first glance it looks good, but there is something rather careful and off putting to me the more I look at it. But like Josh said, there are way too many Zep forgeries and on a Zep IV album, that makes it worse too. Plus like Josh also said, it's tough to have an 'exemplar' of Plants signature to compare because it really does vary and can be erratic. But he definitely does sign with the straight line underneath.

I think this is an interesting discussion, but really what everyone is saying is that if you don't get the signature in person, then you will never be sure, which is the case with any signature. unfortunately, that limits the ability for most collectors to obtain items that are important to them. So we have to rely on education, instinct, discussions like this, etc.  In this case, I would buy the signature. I believe that it is genuine, regardless of the concerns posted here.  Below is Plant's signature on the Band of Joy cd. I know its authentic because my cousin was the drummer in the group and toured with him around the world for two years.  I think the signature in question stacks up favorably with this one.

Cheers to you S. Maxwell! These morons that comment this guy doesn't sign this or that are all basing it on one encounter. They wouldn't know how to get a "tough" autograph if their lives depended on it. Just because you stand outside of a hotel once and he says he isn't signing Zeppelin items once doesn't mean he will never sign them again. It's ALL about timing and approaching in the RIGHT SITUATION at the RIGHT TIME. And whoever said the Zep IV LP is possibly bad is a complete idiot. When have you ever seen a MORE spot on authentic example? I love this site...D

This autograph I have signed Robert Plant before its concerto 12.08.2003 in Minske, country Belarus.

very nice!
