Priciest photo op?
Hi all! Steve suggested I start a discussion on this site. I'm a columnist for Yahoo entertainment news. We're doing a story based on a report that Sly Stallone charged more than $400 for photos with fans recently.
We're wondering if that's as spendy as these ops get, or if anyone out there might charge more.
We're also looking for some other examples of pricy celebrity photo ops of the moment.

They say it costs that much because he will be in make up. Either way, that's such an insane price. Too many of them are.

Stallones price is cheap compared to what some music stars charge for their meet and greets nowadays. For example, a meet and greet package with Britney Spears during her residency in vegas will run you $2,500 (and believe it or not they've sold out). Sure it comes with a front row ticket, signed poster and other various add ons but if you break down the package the photo op with her comes to way more than 400-500 that stallone was charging. High prices are a factor of the caliber of celebrity. Stallone is so high because he is of a much higher caliber as 100% of the rest of people who do cons. People like him normally dont appear at conventions and its got to be worth their time to do so, meaning a big pay day. Same will be the deal if Harrison Ford ever appears at one. He will probably be higher than Stallone. Imagine if Paul McCartney offered meet and greet packages. Theyd probably be upwards of 10,000.

I paid $60.00 for a signed Leonard Nimoy Autograph at Seattle Comicon in 2009. While I didn't feel the cost was exorbitant, I did feel he could have at least looked up at me, or said something. The line wasn't too long, so it wouldn't of been too much of a burden. (And the autograph was for my son.) Meanwhile, a dejected young fan was turned away when he couldn't produce the 60 clams to the young woman holding the cashbox.

The most dominating basketball player in the history of the NBA, WILT CHAMBERLAIN, charged me ZERO dollars at a show in Overland Park, Kansas in 1999 four months before his death. For a man who owns the record for the most NBA records (absolutely crushing Michael Jordan in almost all statistics), he only charged $125 for his autograph on a basketball. When I asked if I could have my picture taken with him as well (it wasn't part of the deal), he was immediately more than happy to do it at no cost. He was just a super nice guy! Personally, I'd rather have a pic with the Babe Ruth of basketball over a very sly Sly anyday.

I consider Wilt the stilt the greatest Basketball player that ever lived. Had him sign his book (free) at a store years ago, very nice, I remember him smiling and taking pictures with people. Wish I'd brought my camera. Sheer class unlike so many of the other stars. Ask Willie Mays for a picture.

Yes, Wilt was so nice. That was my second encounter with him. I didn't have a camera with me either, but luckily the woman behind me did and took a picture for me. She lived four hours away in St. Louis but said she would mail it to me once developed. She kept her word. Very nice of her. I even got to put my arm across Wilt's back with my hand resting on his shoulder! That was pretty cool.
My first encounter with Wilt was January 17, 1998, when he made his return to his alma mater, the University of Kansas after a forty-year abscence. The school retired his jersey at halftime, and he spoke about his pride of having played at KU. He wasn't originally supposed to sign autographs, but after the game, the school announced he would sign for a limited time. Well, I got in line with a couple of thousand people, maybe more. Wilt signed autographs for over two hours, until each and every person who wanted one got one! When I reached the table, I said, "Welcome home, Mr. Chamberlain." He replied, "Thank you. It's really good to be home."

Nice Wilt autographs, Ian! Man, I just found this authentic Wilt Chamberlain and George Gervin signed basketball. It just didn't have a COA. But it's real, for sure. The seller got it his a collection he purchased. I guess he started the bidding at 0.00, and without a COA it sold for only $256 !! Talk about a steal. I wish I would have seen it. It's a nice signature of Wilt. Here's a link:
