I need an Opinion for getting a Jersey Signed

I have a new (older Cooperstown design) Cincinnati reds jersey. The jersey is Grey with red numbers. I am sending it off to get signed.

I am going to have him sign the back of the jersey and will have some inscriptions put on it as well. Now I am not worried about them signing on the numbers as they are red and have a surface that will allow for good contrast.

My issue is the inscriptions on the grey part of the jersey below the numbers. What kind of pen/marker/paint pen do you all recommend AND most importantly WHAT COLOR. I hate black but if thats the best bet then thats what I will use. Im afraid blue wont POP off the color like on a white jersey. I think white would look cool but I dont know what kind of writing utensil would be best on jersey material.

Any help advice? Thanks

I think that your best bet will simply be a black Sharpie. I know that it sounds boring but sometimes you just have to stick with tradition.

would you answer be any different if the jersey was white?

If so I may try to get a white jersey instead. I know that with a white jersey any color will do. However would the type of pen change?

If the autograph is going to appear on a white jersey then I would go with a black or a blue Sharpie as much as you may be tempted to go with a red Sharpie. Personally, I would prefer a black Sharpie. Good luck. Keep us posted.
