How does PSA explain this??

There is an ebay seller named schu45. I have no idea if his autographs are authentic or not.

However, he has over 800 items listed on ebay and all of them have a In The Presence COA from PSA. My question is how does PSA issue such a COA for all these Hollywood stars? Are they sending a representative into the field to cert. this items on the spot? Does not sound likely.

Or is there another way that they can cert 800+ Hollywood in person autographs.

Last time I looked Al Pacino , Cindy Crawford, Laura Linney and 800 other Hollywood personalities have not made any personal appearances to sign autographs.

The PSA In The Presence COA specifically states that the autograph was WITNESSED by a PSA representative.

Is this seller a PSA representative too, besides being a seller of autographs?? Conflict of interest I would think if that is the case. Is the seller a friend of someone on the PSA authentication staff? I am just asking a question.

I have written to PSA and await an answer or perhaps even an appearance here to answer.

Steve - Ask him about 800 movie stars,,that are now on ebay,,, that should be about 100 movie premieres. Do they do movie premieres or do Al Pacino and Harrison Ford do private signings?

I have an old, tried an true method for overcoming psychological disturbances such as these you've encountered here.

Stare at the following image for 15 minutes each morning before breakfast, and prior to retiring each evening.

Repeat this mantra, "Circle A is Blue..., Circle B is Red..., Circle A is Blue..., Circle B is Red...,"

Within 2 weeks you should be OK!

Seems like the thread has gone cold as PSA/DNA never come online to discuss concerns. Anyone can call Joe Orlando to hear the party line and if reprinted offers plausible deniability and a host of other outs.

We keep asking Steve and it comes across as if he has become the "spokesman" for them presuming the discussions occur. Needless to say this has been noted by many through-out a variety of threads and even though he is obviously pro PSA/DNA & JSA he is not an "authorized spokesman" so we need to remember to not shoot the messenger..

Incidently, there are 850 listings as of this comment. At the header description level there are 87 ITPs.

I fail to understand why an authorized spokesman from PSA/DNA cannot appear to simply resolve and put to rest these concerns as the seller has not responded to inquiries.

There is probably no good answer that PSA can come up with.

Maybe, but at least it would be a step in the right direction. Maybe they should hire Bobby Livingston.

There is always an explanation. We may not like the answer nor agree with the explanation. But, an explanation is still better than silence.

It would be best to show the item. No one is going to endorse an item sight unseen just because of the seller. Even the best sellers make mistakes.

To clarify, I'm not simply pro PSA/DNA and JSA. I'm pro legitimate and qualified third party authentication—the hobby would benefit from more competition. I'd particularly like to see more specialty authenticators, even if they associate themselves with larger ones for efficiency's sake.

I have NO faith in 3rd party authenticators. PSA/DNA, JSA. JSA who was investigated by the FBI for fake authentication. PSA who was at the Sun-Times show doing on site authentication, told this guy the autograph he was getting authentication for was not real however, the player was there doing a signing...duh...he had just gotten the jersey signed. When companies are profiting from selling signed items instead of just authenticating them then, they are no longer worth trusting. I use my own tamper proof holograms & a picture of the player/driver signing on my high end items. I will never use 3rd party authenticators & will never purchase anything that has JSA attached to it. Even that sports auction show that was on tv that always used JSA to authenticate his items was duped by JSA, that is probably why the show is no longer on.
