Is "American Authentication Company" reliable? U2 autographs photos authenticated by it....

Hi everyone,

This is my first time here. Good to join

I'm interested in purchasing a U2 signed photo and I keep seeing sellers (mostly at iOffer) providing a COA of a company by the name of "American Authentication" (www.americanauthentication.com). I've never heard of this company and when trying to Google them, other than their website I cannot find any other information on them.

Does anyone have info on them?

Much appreciated

Dan

Bjarne, funny you should say that, because one of my band signed items is a signed disk.  But, yeah, this isn't common, primarily because they don't make for the most ideal signatures (especially if you're getting multiples).

How did you submit your bid on an auction that doesn't start accepting bids until March 13?

Here is a signed U2 album with 2 of the band on it.  Maybe it will help you compare it to others you find.

Both are terrible.  I've seen the first one listed on Ebay for a while with a complete lie about getting it in person.  It's not even close.

If you'd like, there's a Facebook group called U2graphs by Eastlink.  It's a group of U2 fans who also have a keen interest in the band's autographs throughout the years.  Some of the members have met the band multiple times since the 80's, and overall there are a several very competent people on the subject.  Most of the posts are fan-obtained examples for reference, though you certainly may ask questions, too.  It isn't really a place for buying or selling, but you're free to ask for opinions on items you're looking at.  I think Max might have to approve you to join, but that should be easy.

Eastlink also has a nifty database online for quick reference showing only fan obtained (not currently for sale) autographs from 1980 to present.

Hi guys,

What do you make out of this one?

Seller claims it was signed at Claridges Hotel, London in Aug. 2009

I checked the web and U2 had a concert in London at that time. Also, Wikipedia says that the band is a regular guest there...

Any good news this time?...:)

Absolute mess and decidedly forged - the Bono and Clayton attempts are completely out there scribbles and the Larry attempt is from the wrong time period anyway (90's style).  Funny enough, the Edge is actually a relatively decent attempt in contrast.  But it's garbage, as is the seller's story,

Buyer has a 99GBP Buy It Now and no bites for a framed display that supposedly has the entire band's signatures, so that you be telling.

He did previously sell this ugly mess below, too.  Same problem - no idea how to forge Adam and Bono, a fake 90's style attempt at Larry and an Edge that is at least the right idea but noticeably off.

Regardless, the odds that this guy would get two full band autographs aren't too great.  And I'd be a bit shocked that an autograph collector would be waiting for U2 at their hotel with a couple of index cards.

Thanks, I'm getting educated here....:)

I meant that I submitted a bid in ebay for the above item...:)
Thanks for the referance
Thank you

This is garbage.

Well, I'm still searching....

Can I kindly ask your expert opinion on this one?

What worries me is the low price, the way the website slander PSA/DNA and as to the signatures, I leave the stage for you...:)

Thanks
