There is a Simpson's joke where they show a rare picture of Sean Connery signed by Roger Moore. Obviously it is a joke, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any gimmicky or joke autographs. Not just a funny message, but maybe some deadpan anti-joke, or signing someone else's picture, or signing someone else's name, or autographing something odd like a baseball player signing a tennis ball. Something strange and unique.

I guess I don't have anything overly absurd or unique.  I had Kurt Busch sign a baseball, because it's all I could find.  I asked Roddy Piper to sign "Mr T sucks" on a boxing glove (I couldn't think of anything too creative on short notice).  Have a Notre Dame mini helmet signed by Sean Astin as well.

A local sports store in town had Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews signed a full size expensive replica of the WWE Heavyweight belt as soon as they could after SB 45.

There have been a number of baseball cards printed with the wrong player photo. The Aurelio Rodriguez "batboy" card and the Al Leiter Topps rookie card spring to mind among others. I have a buddy who's made it his mission to get these type of cards signed, but the funny part is that a lot of players are steadfast in refusing to sign the error cards for some reason. I do think he finally wore down Rodriguez after years of requests though - lol.

I remember reading a few years back that singer John Mayer got into a bit of trouble with some fans after he signed their items with the name “Engelbert Humperdinck” instead of “John Mayer.”

Penn Jillette told the story of he and Lou Reed being together in public and a fan came up and asked them both to sign. Lou took the piece of paper first and wrote, "Magically Yours, Penn Jillette." Penn took it next and seeing what Lou wrote put "Walk on the Wild Side, Lou Reed."  That would be a cool piece to have.

I have been trying to get my "White Whale" gimmick item signed for quite some time and any help is welcome. Don't judge too much, but I think a gag ball signed by Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames would be the best conversation piece and very unique. haha

Ed Asner is my favorite for random and absurd inscriptions.

"The Chinese are comin."

"I am putting these all on eBay."

"Everybody's happy - except me."

"I'm Santa, you wanna fight about it?"

I actually had a dream of getting 2 Simpsons joke related autographs...

The first was to get Leonard Nimoy to sign a Simpsons picture with the inscription "May the Force be with you, Leonard Nimoy, The Little Rascals". Sad to say that will never happen.

I also paid for a photo op with Stan Lee at Comikaze- I wanted to get a picture of him holding my Barris Batmobile, trying to cram a Thing figure into it with me off to the side making a worried face. I was excited for weeks beforehand about it but in the end they wouldn't let him do it, claiming copyright infringement or some such B.S.. At least I got my money back.

Oh well. Dare to dream and all that.

And once I saw a picture of Lee Meriwether as Catwoman signed by Julie Newmar on eBay. I almost bought it, just for the Simpsons reference.
