I would like to buy some COAs for some of my signed items, but am not sure who is the best to get.

Obviously Frank Caiazzo would be perfect, but according to his site he no longer does them. Tracks in my opinion would be next in line, and they did have a service at one time. However, Jason just emailed me to say they dont have this service anymore.

So, I'm now looking at BeatlesMarketPlace in the UK.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? Who would you go to?

Thanks in advance

I have a huge collection of many one of a kind Beatle items...plus my Beatles autograph collection runs from roughly 1957 with a Stu Sutcliffe all the way to 1992...and when I have sold some signatures...which is rare..I'm always asked..."What kind of paperwork do you have?"...and when I say Tracks or Frank Caiazzo...that seals the deal...

It is, I e mailed him and got the reply that he no longer does this for mere mortals!

Yeah a great shame. Says on his site, he's only fulfilling his contracts now.

Probably more hassle for him than its worth.

It is a shame that the world of Beatles Autographs is so cut-throat that some of it's most respected authenticators feel that they have to close ranks. I can understand their viewpoint, look at that lawsuit that American Royal Arts started against Frank Caiazzo, for nothing more than telling the truth. If American Royal Arts had of won that case it could have set a precedent whereby their "forensically qualified" authenticators could claim that their work was proven in law. Thank god Frank won that one.

On the other hand, I feel that most Beatle autograph collectors on this forum are either good enough to make their own decisions as to authenticity or able to access opinions from people experienced with their autographs.

Of course a COA is often for more than just re-assurance for the current owner that autographs are actually genuine. As others have testified, a COA from one of the top authenticators will make any item a lot easier to sell in the future.

Personally, like the OP I'm confident enough to buy on the back of my own opinion and research but my opinion isn't going to carry as much weight as some when it comes to dealing with third parties.

This doesn't actually answer the question though of how you obtain one of these COA's at this time? Do you have to buy or sell directly to/from one of them to get the COA? Or maybe an auction house that uses their authentication services?

Frank could make a fortune just putting out COA's all day...but he doesn't. I've known Frank since the late 1990's..

..and he is a good guy. He's just wary...I've seen some really bad forged Beatles autographs..and they come with a forged Caiazzo COA. I've notified him when I've found the COA's..and he's had them removed from the auction. As I've said before...Frank and Paul Wane from TRACKS...to me...are the best...

Hi Jim
how great of a authenticator is Frank?
They say he has the best collection to certify from.
