Here are two Babe Ruth signed baseballs. The first was authenticated by Mike Gutierrez and was dismissed as not authentic by everyone who gave an opinion on the discussion board. It was sold for only $2000 on eBay by an Illinois pawn shop that apparently did not understand the value of certain Babe Ruth items. I was shocked. It was only listed for a short time.

That baseball was characterized as having a "slow draw" to it and no "bounce", as well as too methodical. It is also signed on an official Ford Fricke ball.

Well, there is now a very similar Babe Ruth signed baseball up for sale on eBay, item 121456760064. It too has a very similar-looking "slow draw" to it. And also may lack the "bounce" that was previously mentioned. It, however, was authenticated by PSA/DNA.

My take is that if the second is authentic, then the first is likewise almost certainly authentic. Now, I will mention that the second was PSA/DNA authenticated when Gutierrez was a member of their team.

The two inscriptions and autographs are extremely similar. The main difference is that the latter is not on an official baseball, and the asking price is over $10,000. If authentic, the asking price would be justified.

that PSA cert is from 2007.  I believe the opinions on Ruth signatures has changed since then.

Do you think these two baseballs would possibly get negative evaluations if they were submitted to PSA/DNA today?

No, I don't think so.

They would stick by their original assessment.

James, You are getting caught up in what others are too here.People here love to give their opinion on autographs for whatever reason. They are just a opinion of one self and the final decision should be yours. So it is possible you have learned something here. Good Luck in the future.

Both to Richard as well.
