I am also a member of the Star Tiger site, which is good for addresses. I saw a guy post that he had a book from the New York "signing". I messaged him and added a link to this thread so he could make an informed decision. He was appreciative and called Barnes and Noble to complain. They told him they were unaware of this and told him to contact the publisher. He is supposed to let me know what they tell him.

I'm quite certain if the man gets in touch with the publisher or anyone else they will ask the JLL crew about it and they will say JLL signed them all. This won't really resolve this for those who think Jerry did sign them or the people who said they didn't.

Great work on this Ballroom. The truth is becoming more clear.

Hey Chad -

So what is the "truth" and conclusions through Ballrooms hard work?  Sorry - not sure with all that was written.

I need a summary :)  if you dont mind.

Mark

Yeah me too.  I know a guy who bought the book and would love to know 'the truth'.

Mark Roberts and Steve Viola,

I suppose the truth depends on who and what you believe. You can choose to believe the word of Jerry Lee Lewis, Judith Lewis, the research of BallroomDays67, the research of individuals on other autograph collector sites and the opinion of PSA. On the other hand, you can choose to believe the opinions of Roger Epperson. This isn't necessarily an easy decision considering the variety of looks authentic signatures from Jerry Lee Lewis have and the varying opinions people have about professional authenticators. Roger and PSA both have their fans and detractors. I personally find value in the opinion of both and factor the opinion in my decision making process.

What I find to be the truth, using the best information currently available to me, is that JLL probably signed the books. He at least signed hundreds and possibly thousands of them and they are weak signatures. They are weak signatures in a finer tip implement than many of his signatures. I see enough evidence of his authentic signature within the book autographs to lean towards them being real.

Thanks for summing it up for this old man…  :)

That was posted here earlier.  Of course that could be called "hearsay"

Mark

I hate to be the one to break the news but the jerry lee lewis signed books are all fakes 100 percent. He flew into jfk airport and his wife told people that she does most of his signing for him and in fact that she even signed the books. that came right from her mouth. so you could believe what ever you want but I know what I heard and I got him in person at his nyc hotel 4 yrs ago and his autograph is a lot different.

Agreed, and thanks, but I actually didn't do a whole lot.

I think Ballroom's Whitten signature clinched it along with your pick guard signature and Roger Epperson throwing in the red challenge flag early on.  At this point I'm only mildly curious as to what the replies from Barnes & Noble or JLL Industries will be.  I'm much more interested in Mark Robert's items when they are returned, whether his items will appear more like the previous known JLL signatures or if they will be as the books are signed.

Blinky, Can you clarify what you mean about the Whitten signature clinching it and Roger throwing in the red challenge flag? Thanks.

I too am interested to see what Mark Robert's gets back. If he continues to do as he did in the past, JLL usually takes more time with the signatures sent to him by fans so we can expect a much higher quality signature than found in the books.

I have been slack with sending the items.  I will get them out tomorrow.. fyi

Mark
