Many a times me and my compadres have been known to frequent hotels, restraunts, airports, etc. to obtain an autograph.  Personally, I don't really see a problem with it.  I just chalk it up to the price of fame.  However, I've heard many a people complain about graphers who graph hotels and airports.  I just wanted to get some insight from some people and see what you think; hotel/airport graphing- yea or nea?

Most are set for life, if they could make someone $50 doing something as little as signing their name, taking only 10 seconds, then what's the problem?

I'm reminded of a quote from "The Simpsons" that sums up your point perfectly.

"Lenny: You know who I can't stand? That Robin Williams. You know one time I saw him eating dinner with his children. He wouldn't take the time out to do all the funny bits from his movies.

Carl: And my sister once saw Burt Reynolds at an airport, and he wouldn't even cosign her mortgage."

Not all hotels are like that with all celebrities, though.

I usually people watch in the lobby of the official hotel for Chicago Comic Con during the convention (yes, I've seen a bunch of the celebrities). This past year, I struck up a conversation with one of the handlers while she was waiting for her ride to the airport. She told me a few 'horror' stories from that year's convention of fans who went a bit overboard in the hotel when they recognized her clients. They weren't "graphers", just fans staying in the hotel.

So, yeah, I see no issue with waiting at the hotel. The question, though, is how you act when that wait comes to fruition. Everyone is different, of course, so I'd never give a blanket statement, but, there are some people, who, just by virtue of their personality and tendencies to overreaction, really shouldn't do hotel graphing.

Richard Simpkins book. Rich and famous. A little story for you all.

I honestly don't know much about obtaining autographs in this way. Im sure I will learn.

The thing is that these celebs a) are millionaires and billionaires b) get all the vagina (or penis) they want c) never have to worry about any finances d) never have to do any REAL WORK in their lives, so I think that signing autographs and having some invasions of privacy is a VERY SMALL price to pay for all of the above.

Pretty much everything you wrote above is either false, irrelevant, despicable or juvenile.  Or a nice combination of those.  But that seem to be par for the course for you, doesn't it?

So far, all you've shown us is that you're 1) in all likelihood a thoroughly loathesome human being, 2) incompetent and 3) immature.  You're just about in straight trolling territory.

So to your questions:
It´s all about attitude - with your attitude I would never sign anything for you! Your attitude is totally disgusting.

Rich wtf is your problem I made a post with my honest opinions and you are being incredibly hurtful.  I have feelings too you know.

I think its honestly the way you've said things in this discussion that rubs a few of us wrong.  You say:

The thing is that these celebs a) are millionaires and billionaires b) get all the vagina (or penis) they want c) never have to worry about any finances d) never have to do any REAL WORK in their lives, so I think that signing autographs and having some invasions of privacy is a VERY SMALL price to pay for all of the above.

And earlier in the discussion this:

My philosophy is that these jerkwads make billions of dollars per year to strum a guitar.  If that means their privacy is invaded for 30 seconds SO BE IT.  These celebrities arent people.  They are commodities.

And then you go into all cap-lock sentences over and over, trying to get attention to the thread to debate it some more.  And now you say you have feelings too?  LOL

Here's my thoughts.  Now I will say right up front, I don't go out graphing at all... (I study one particular autograph so I am not out on the streets) but I have watched the person I study get mobbed constantly by people his entire life, so much that he lived basically locked in his own little world where people couldn't get to him, even after death the paparazzi etc, wouldn't stop.  You say 30 seconds so be it - 30 seconds for you, the next person, the next person, the next person.  You talk as if all celebrity's don't have to work for their status, and basically OWE you their time.  Not to be mean but if I was a celeb and I knew your attitude (calling celebs jerkwads) you would be someone I would totally avoid giving an autograph to.  Just my two cents.

wascher (no moderator hat on right now... just my personal opinion)

+1 and then add a second +1...

Same from me.

I don't get where this "Why can't they take [insert arbitrary amount of seconds here] to sign an autograph?" comes from.

Even if you're the only one waiting, they owe you nothing

Why to even ask for the autograph of someone who you have absolutely zero respect? You are using very awful harsh words and then you ask them for autograph? What an awful hypocrisy.
