Hey gang! New member here, glad to be part of the community! I've only been collecting autos for the past couple of years, mainly certified sports cards from Topps and such, but have been wanting to branch out into music and movies for some time, but it's always been so cost-prohibitive to do so. Anyway, I'm high on doing my own research and have started to go down the rabbit hole now that I've discovered this site, but I wanted to throw out a piece I've had for a while to get some more experienced opinions on it. I bought it when the movie came out, and wasn't really into autos as much then, and didn't do the research I probably should have. It's a full 27x40 one sheet for The Departed, signed (supposedly) by Scorsese (next to the title), Matt Damon (bottom), Alec Baldwin (directly to the left of the billing block), Anthony Anderson (to the left of Baldwin), Jack Nicholson (over the T), Ray Winstone (between the A&R), Martin Sheen (over the E), and a couple others I can't identify (possibly Mark Wahlberg & Leo DiCaprio?)
I've tried to search legit examples of all these, and some look maybe close, while others (Matt Damon, specifically) don't look like any other certified examples I could find. Can anyone here help me out with their opinion, it would be greatly appreciated!!! (sorry for the glary pic, hopefully it's big enough to make out the sigs)

I consider myself very knowledgable with modern actors signatures. I do know quite a bit about DiCaprio, Damon, Wahlberg, Scorsese. Unfortunately this poster does not appear to have authentic signatures from any of them. I have never seen an authentic poster such as this with that many authentic signatures on it. They really are almost impossible to find.
If you look closely, you can tell that all the signatures were penned by the same person. Pen pressure appears to be consistent within all signatures. Most of them are signed on the same angle, and almost all the signatures are the same size. I guarantee you would see many different pen pressures and various sizes and angles if this were authentically signed.
Sorry to bring bad news, but hopefully someone else on this site will substantiate my opinion.
Happy collecting :)
Thanks for your input, Benjamin! Still getting up speed on noticing things such as pen pressure and angles and such, and was hanging my hat on things like the A's in Anthony Anderson NOT matching the A in Alec Baldwin, or the different M's in Martin Sheen & Martin Scorsese as well as not much evidence of the autos being signed with a slow hand as signs that it might possibly be authentic, but everything being so uniform in silver pen always nagged at me. Oh well, I'm on the hunt to find something real to take it's place on my office wall!
Same hand forgeries IMO. I would estimate 99% of "cast-signed" movie posters are not authentic. I exposed a huge group of sellers awhile back that were making tons of money selling this junk, they even had a website.
Thanks Ryan! Dang, I wish I remembered who the seller was, as I bet they're still selling fakes on eBay... I gotta take this junk off my wall tonight and crack open the frame, I think I put the COA inside it. Will update this thread if I have the info so we can expose these bums!
Worthless "COA" that anyone could make in about 3 minutes on Microsoft Word
I will translate the back part of the COA for you in a simple sentence. "Incase you find out that this item is a terrible forgery, we will not offer you a refund." He's basically telling you tough titty, you are taking a serious risk with your money. Ouch, I bet he only scanned the front of the COA in his sales listings.
