Blue Oyster Cult BOC and Kansas opinions SVP

I studied these for a while and got comfortable that they look real, but other opinions are useful. These bands sign a lot, so I do not believe these are very expensive. One I won, the other I did not, but I would have liked both. How did I do?

BOC Should be Bouchard Bros, Buck, Bloom and the late Alan Lanier

Kansas: Erhardt, Walsh, Hope, Williams, Greer

Both the items you showed us are not authentic. These are very amateur forgeries sorry to say. I am guessing these are from the same seller cause he is too lazy to switch pens. First, the autographs are crap but also keep in mind that these bands are very fractured and the guys on these album have not been together for many years, long before silver sharpies were born. From a guy who has been getting autographs in person for as many years as I have I can safely say that is almost impossible to get full band items in the same exact pen especially when you have to track all these guys down solo... One guy will always grab someone else's pen and ruin it. Sorry my friend, these are not real for many reason. Let us/me know if you need help in the future. You can always message me.

Thanks a lot. Very insightful. I had not really explored the timing of silver sharpies back to the late 70's.

I have also been studying past sales to see repeat signatures, and it is amazing that the same artist comes up with a different album, same story (I posted a discussion thread on ebay seller legitimate? I am not sure I can tell by the signature itself, as they do appear reasonable, but I am quickly learning to look for clues outside the signatures. Appreciate the insight

You can get all these guys in the silver sharpie but they are all broke up all over the country in different bands of solo etc... It's not something we in person graphers tend to do. Those pens are the worst pens ever and so we use blue or black and we'd never get the backs of albums signed either but on the rarest of occasion.

These are the only real completes on ebay. They are really hard to finish and we don't sell them cheap. I am not affiliated with any of these sellers but they are all above board so use their autographs for real exemplars if you need too.

Sharpies in general, but especially the silver ones, are horrible. On vinyls I would definitely recommend using something from Edding or Pentel for a nicer looking result. Personally I usually stick to black as it just looks more classy. Silver paint pens have been around for 30+ years, and these days they look great and are pretty useful if you know what you're doing.

As for those sellers, I have never seen wallsofsound2 sell an item that I thought was bad. I have seen occasional forgeries in kitts_kollect's inventory though, which I find a bit funny the way he pretends to get everything in-person.
