Hi, I'd like to introduce myself to the group. I've been collecting guitar picks and autographs since the 80's. Please feel free to look at my site, all the autographs I have got myself in person (apart from the Dylan - I was one of the lucky 10 in London to get the signed Tempest CD)

As I live in Ireland, I'm lucky that I've had the opportunity to meet U2 many times, and one of the reasons for me joining the group is to show you authentic U2 signatures and give my opinion on the many U2 fakes I see on Ebay, and to hopefully stop people wasting money on obvious and lazy forgeries.

It's rare I sell anything from my collection, but I've a few things on Ebay at the moment, including this U2 Joshua Tree inner signed by all 4.

I know it's 100% real as I got it myself in person....but I'd love to get any tips on how I'm selling it, or to get more people to view it, or on pricing. Should I start the auction lower or higher? Should I pay to get it authenticated, even though I got it myself and I have many pics of myself with the band?

Many thanks and please feel free to message me with any questions about U2 autographs or anything on my site :)

You'll get plenty of bids with that starting price for an authentic full-band U2 Joshua Tree album.  Nice item.

From what I've seen, I wouldn't worry about authentication.  Fans, pros and collectors will recognize this as authentic and bid accordingly.

Thanks Rich

Welcome Ger and awesome item. Many on eBay will only buy with an authentication or sticker so it may not go for the price it should do. To help you may want to spend $15 and get Roger Epperson to give it the thumbs up and then add this to the auction as it will help the sale price.

Couldn't hurt, but I've seen several authentic fully signed U2 flats go on Ebay for over $1000, even without authentication.  The market may have cooled a bit recently, but this is still a very nicely signed U2 Joshua Tree album, so . . .

Cheers Dan. Appreciate it.

I agree Rich, the prices have come down for U2 items and I'm not sure why. Maybe because the last album met with a chilly reception and/or the band is signing more for fans then they used to?  I bought a fully signed mint condition album for $550 so something is going on.  A year ago you couldn't touch one for under a grand. Am a correct in that the Joshua Tree being discussed is a fold out poster from the actual LP?  Did the US release come with a fold out insert?

Seems like Larry might be signing a bit more, which would affect prices I'm sure.  But you're right.  I've been a fan for years, but I've felt my enthusiasm fade a bit the past couple years.  I don't think this album helped.

Trust to me to get my timing this bad :P

Hi Bruce, yeah it's the lyric sheet on the other side. It came with the old vinyl.

gorgeous piece, totally authentic to my eyes... wish you best of luck getting top dollar (i will be keeping an eye on it myself!) but knowing eBay, plenty of people pay for that sticker and not for the auto, so be wary of that!

Thanks Jason, I'm really learning a lot today.

You've come to the right spot for that, Ger! Great community here of cool, knowledgeable people, who are more than happy to help!
