eBay seller ttstatechamp has a signed michael Jordan jersey up with upper deck.
The autograph is fake.
I contacted them with my concerns as I thought maybe they were scammed themselves only for them to lie to me and say they got it themselves at the MJ flight school in Illinois

Two reasons that's a lie - 1. The flight school is in Cali 2. The letters on then "COA" aren't from the school

Beware of this. It sucks that there's fake Uda items out there

My guess is that the cert is fake, UDA isn't certing fake graphs.  They will only cert witnessed autographs.

The hologram number isnt registered in their database and I'll bet you money that if you buy it the seller will make up a BS story about how he lost the COA but not to worry because the hologram is on the item and everything is OK. Theres a reason he doesn't show the COA actually opened in the pictures, my guess is because its from another item.

Yea I understand they don't cert fakes but if you search the forum it's well documented people are swapping stickers and in some cases even manufactured their own

Happens with everything, not just UDA items.  Collectors must be vigilant in their purchasing.

Uda really screwed up with the Way they have done their online database

A lot of this stuff with Uda, Steiner, epperson could all be resolved by doing an up to date online database.

At least Upper Deck has a system online for post 2002 autographs, Steiner needs to start numbering their certs for items that are not MLB authenticated.  Epperson's certs are way too easy to fake IMO, anyone with a home printer can make one of them in about 10 minutes.

Upper deck don't though that's the problem. They only do for items they do privately

That means the thousands of items MJ signs at his camps aren't on the database

They do issue certs for the camp graphs though, so always make sure the number on the cert matches the number on the graph holo.  That's much harder to fake than just the holo on the item.

You aren't reading what I'm writing properly
There are fake STICKERS and matching COAS out there for Uda

It doesn't matter that at the camp they give a sticker and COA as there is no way to check the item on the online database because they don't add them.

If you call Uda you can ask if the item is authentic and they will check their physical database BUT they don't have any images just what the item is aka jersey, shoe etc

I understand what you are saying, I have yet to see a convincing fake of both holo's on a COA and the item, but if you say they are out there I believe you.

They could easily remedy the situation by putting the items online, but with most of these companies they just don't care enough to put in the effort.

Look here - matching Uda COA and stickers with fake autographs

None of those images are clear enough to read the hologram numbers, but yes sellers will try to switch them around and take them off of other less expensive items or just make their own.

I would never buy an upper deck item that couldn't be verified in their database anyway.. isn't that the whole point of buying upper deck items?

Yes bit camp items can't be verified

Therre definitely are both COA and stickers I have some saved I'll go look for you
