Just an FYI ,I called and spoke with Sotheby's this morning and they could not believe I got the piece for that price.there was no reserve on it.they also said that they were very unhappy with the entire auction.apparently it didn't come close to there expectations at all.they told me that my piece was projected to fetch at least 7000 pounds.the whole auction was a bust in there eyes.they told me even though there was a lot of people in the room,the vibe and money wasn't there.total flop.maybe that explains why I got it for so cheap.

Ya know terrier,I asked you in the beginning of this thread why you don't think it was real,you never answered.now you come on and say "maybe" insinuating that that's not why it was sold for cheap,it's because it might not be real.obvoisly you don't think it's real.man up and tell my why you do think so rather than coming up With one word answers.i genuinely want to hear your take on it.

you are reading too much into it. I was just agreeing with you.  my opinion does not matter, all of the heavyweights feel its authentic. so "maybe" your explanation as to why it sold for what an authentic album page would typically sell for, is spot on.  

Aren't you happy with your purchase?  Or do you still have doubts?

As an outsider your "maybe" answer was ironic and certainly not "just agreeing with him". As if you didn't see that the answer wasn't innocent (can't come up with the exact word but you know what I mean). I don't think you are stupid.
You are doing it again with your last ironical questions.
You just feel it isn't real and you seem a bit irritated, you have the right to. But if you feel your opinion doesn't matter than why you come back to answer "maybe", I would have better things to do then.

Have you passed it in to Roger Epperson yet? I would feel a bit more comfortable. Than you have the COA from Tracks and his opinion too.

I guess it may have been that all the top dealers and collectors were strapped for cash at the same time but somehow I cannot believe it. Even fairly run-of-the-mill album pages offered by tiny provincial UK auction houses rarely go for less than £2,000 before buyer's premium. I am not a true expert on Beatles autographs but something about this piece seems fishy. Maybe it's the unusual photograph, maybe it's the somewhat unusual use of fountain pen, maybe the fantastic condition, maybe the lack of first hand provenance, maybe the name-dropping in the provenance letter, maybe the lack of dedications (though this ties-in with the letter of provenance), maybe the failure to mention Tracks in the lot description.

I remember getting a signed photograph for £1,000 around 20 years ago. I had put in a ridiculously low bid of around £1,200 and the alarm bells were ringing as soon as I heard I'd got it - and with good reason. It got shot to pieces when I offered it on ebay many moons ago.

It may be that this was a very lucky buy I would certainly try to get some additional comfort on it while the money back guarantee still applies. I didn't and ended up counting the cost.
