Virtually everyone collects something. I collect autographs because it interests me and it takes my mind off the struggles of day to day living. It's my comfort food. But, I probably would never ask for someone's autograph in person, too shy for that I guess.

I have no idea why I have been collecting autographs for over 35 years.  Meeting the signer in person does not interest me.  I just enjoy the hobby, as frustrating as it can be, and as full of corruption as it is.

Dislike the corruption as well but we live in a world bent on corruption, not just autographs. In some way, I find the weeding process my favorite challenge. It has made me a better, wiser collector. It is a shame that so many people are taking in by the easy buy process without genuine concern of what they are actually paying for.

Joe, I couldn't agree more.

The reason I collect, is because ever since I was a little girl, celebrities always fascinated me. I guess, autographs brings me closer to the star. Collecting In-Person, tells a story. For each person i collected In-Person, I can tell you a story about each and every one. That is the beauty of collecting autographs....A life time of memories

I started collecting because my friend collected autos and I was jealous and couldn't let him be better than me!

It's fun to meet people who had an impact on your life, and the lives of so many people.  Signed items make nice display pieces and always have a good story behind them.  Plus they are often valuable, and appreciate over time making them good investments.
