I lean toward authentic on the "Babe Ruth" but I don't think the address is in his hand. Not sure it would pass a legitimate 3rd party service.
Is your comment about not passing 3rd party about just the address or also the signature? Thanks Randy!
To me, the autograph looks plausible but the 3rd parties probably fail 85% of the Ruth autographs submitted. I would lean 60/40 toward authentic but IMO it is not a slam dunk. $300 is a high price to pay for an opinion on this one but it could pass. Maybe try and get Richard Simon's opinion if possible. He is a member here and much more qualified than me to opine.
Don't think the address is in the same hand? Really? I'm not sure Ruth signed this, but I KNOW the address is in the same hand. Wow...
I give opinions. I don't claim to "know" anything about something written supposedly 67+ years ago that I didn't witness.
Randy, I understand what you're saying. Theoretically, none of us can "know." And there are many, many instances in which I wouldn't use so strong a term. But the issue of whether the address is in the same hand is, to me, patently obvious for numerous reasons. I'd bet the farm on it. WHOSE hand wrote it is an entirely different matter...
Great, thanks a lot James!
