This Freddie Mercury autograph was given to me as a gift a few years back. The older friend, and an experienced autograph collector, had it in his possession from his sister, who got this signed in person, as he told me. I have no reason to believe he was lying.
I have to sell in unfortunately and I was either going to send it to PSA/JSA first, because I know many buyers/bidders will claim it to be fake, etc. I decided to put it on eBay instead and within a few hours, received a message claiming it was 110% fake. I truly do not believe this to be the case, but decided to take it down to eventually send to PSA/JSA when I get the extra $100, to make sure.
I wanted to ask for everyones opinion on this item. The sister wrote when and where it was obtained. At this time, I do have it matted and framed. Any opinions are welcome, but I will still eventually send it to PSA/JSA. Thanks guys! I have seen many examples on google etc....which are VERY similar to what I have,
Neither can I - thats why I don't lie...now perhaps you had better stop as you may work yourself into such a tizzy and you will end up throwing your toys out of the pram and then maybe stamp your little feet.
I have said I cannot prove it...that should be enough for you...now run along and play with your chums.
Ha ha ha....oh boy - seriously I really do not need to make stories up...and what fakes have I peddled? Point them out...
But I am not peddling it nor selling nor trying to unload....you are in the dangerous side of slander now. I entered into a discussion...you have been quite rude.
It´s slowly getting silly:
Autographs signed in backstage (as you, Adrian, said) during some sort of meet & greet would not be that rushed - one of them, maybe, but definately NOT all of them... Backstage scenario is much more comfortable than any other (maybe with exception of official autograph session, but that´s completely out of question....) - around the venue, at the hotel, at the airport - all of these scenarios lead to rushed autographs, but this type of backstage meet&greet with signing? No....
In attached picture you can see just few most obvious warning points - as I said - it´s all written by one hand (because pen pressure, shaping of letters, distance between them, all characteristics are nearly the same), plus - someone who did that obviously has NO IDEA how Brian writes "t" letter!
Well you question it all - it doesn't matter - I am not trying to sell it. I got it I am happy with it...I was with a roadie friend and thankfully he can corroborate it should I need. I don't need. But really....authenticating signatures is obviously not your forte...but lets drop it shall we?
No I haven't but hey you have an opinion - thankfully I don't need your opinion. I have also been quite polite.
Mmm - My clients christian name is Alan - he works for The Who, The Eagles and has worked for Genesis, he was a Roadie with the Rolling Stones as well, he also worked for Staus Quo - he looks after the guitars - I know you are all sitting there thinking another made up story - however Quo were at the concert I was at, as were INXS and XTC and yes he got me back stage...but as I say I have nothing to prove...I don't care what you all think...in fact I am amazed at you all trying to be the top notch authenticators - not even Frasers are right all the time. I do find it sad that you are all jumping up and down...still lets drop it now...say goodnight to the folks eh?
