I met Kirk at a sports card show a couple of months after his epic blast in Game 1 of the '88 WS.  He signed a few things for me including my ticket (I was at the game!).  What would you say is the approximate value of this item??

Maybe $50 to the right collector IMO. Kirk was a good player but would be quickly forgotten if not for that HR.

MIght bring more on Ebay if you can find two collectors who really want it.

I'd say more man. I'm surprised at what just a World Series ticket from a well known game can go for.

It's a stub if he went to the game.

Not necessarily. I work at a stadium and I know that they've allowed season ticket holders to not have their tickets ripped.

Not in 1988.

at busch stadium they scan everything.  also at the hearnes center here in Columbia Missouri.  You keep your full ticket

Here in AZ at all events to. Not back in the late 80's and early 90's. They ripped your ticket or you didn't get in.

Is it a full ticket?

Yeah, I believe it is.  Except for the color of the field level on the ticket, it's exactly like this one being sold on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251442084582?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&a... - I appreciate all the feedback.  I'll be taking it to a very reputable sports cards business near my home this week for their assessment, as well.  I don't think that I'll ever sell it (for personal reasons), but...ya never know ;-)

Well, anyone can ask whatever they want and never sell something but the PSA/DNA price guide lists a 1988 game 1 stub in NM condition at $50. The autograph adds some value to it so maybe it is a hundred dollars or so. What you have looks to be just a stub, not a full ticket.

This seller has no chance to get $400 for this one on Ebay IMO.

Several have sold for under a hundred.

It is a nice item but the value is not in the $400 price range on the open market.

Considering that Gibby is still in baseball and does sign from time to time from what I understand also doesnt help the price of the item either i would assume.

Yeah, it being a stub I totally agree with you.
