Hi all. I have this little card from Belgium that has Ricky Nelson's signature on it. I also have an Audrey Hepburn. Any opinions regarding authenticity. I have had these in my collection for some years and just want to see. I did much comparison prior to buying and both looked very real to me. I will post Audrey Hepburn's next.

Here is the Audrey Hepburn card. These cards are small. Perhaps from a penny arcade machine. I am not sure. But I show the back of the cards as well. they measure 3 3/4" X 2 1/2".
what did you compare the ricky nelson too?
Honestly I compared years ago before purchasing them. But I searched the net and different autograph dealers and looked at re-prints being sold on Ebay; because I figured if they are gonna sell a re-print it must be from a real signed photograph. At least you would think.. haha. But you never know.
Their is something about the Nelson that doesnt look right to me, but i could be wrong.
But i had to comment on the preprint issue. When i found out the truth about re prints i was pretty shocked as well. But the more i studied and learned about them, the more i found out that today, a great deal of reprints are copies of forgeries. I see fake reprints on ebay constantly. Odds are if you search for a reprint of a popular artist, you will find many reprints of forgeries. At one time i dont think it was as common as it is now, but today forgers have stepped up the game. It makes comparing autographs fairly tricky at times.
But i hope the Nelson is real for you. Take Care
Carl
Yes I have been seeing a lot of copies of fakes on Ebay too. I don't just compare on Ebay when I search. I am pretty thorough..I check many reputable sights as well. Just to get a well rounded idea of a person's signature.
On these cards both Nelson and Hepburn you can see the ink pressed into the paper.. they genuinely look old.. even the ink has a vintage almost old yearbook look to it..
I hope they are real too. who knows..
Did they
it does not look anything like his later signatures. what bothers me about this one is how slowly written it is. like it was drawn, not fluently signed as it should be.
Looks like the card is from the 50's its aged. Therefore, I did try and compare to that era. His later signatures yes I saw a difference too. Thanks guys for your input.
THANKS ALL for your INPUT!
sadly i do not think the Hepburn is authentic. i have studied her signature a lot and it just doesnt match up with her signature at any time period through out her life. i could be wrong but i just dont see it as being authentic.
I just tonight found this signed photo from Lonestar Autographs; signed in the 50's. I see similarities between mine and theirs. Here is the link. http://www.lonestarautographs.com
Does anyone have any opinions now comparing mine and this one?
