Excuse me for the overly dramatic and pessimistic discussion title...

But I have now asked you members on this site for your opinion regarding a total of 7 different MJ-autographs from 3 different AFTAL registered dealers and 1 Bob Dylan from a UACC registered dealer and they have all have been deemed as fakes...

That result is just depressing... :-(

I have the last couple of years always bought from UACC and AFTAL dealers and thought that the extra money they cost, compared to autographs from non UACC/AFTAL registered dealers, would mean that they are most likely genuine, but this result tells me that´s not true.

Can anyone please tell me where to find:

1. Authentic MJ-autographs?

and

2. Authentic movie and music autographs from the 60s and forward?

In summary, which dealers do you trust?

Thanks for helping!

Emsomaso

Roger Epperson for Authentic MJ-Autographs

Autograph World, Markus Brandes, Rolf Ramseir for Autographs from 60's forward.

All of the above are very reliable and extremely reputable dealers of Authentic Autographed Memorabilia.

There's way more fakes on Ebay than real, FWIW. Do your homework! You can teach yourself to recognize the real deal with some studying and it's oh, so much more rewarding in the end :) Not to mention you don't have to pay mark-up for someone else's expertise. My 2 cents :)

Thanks, sounds like a good advice!

The reason there are so many fakes, is because there is an up hill batter with secretarial signers, and an entire gamet of dishonest folks.  We can talk about the how/why, but, all that by now is as obvious as it is out of control.  Further, the artists themselves are part of the problem either by simply not knowing the system or not caring.  There are so many deceased signatures I would love to have in my collection, but rather pass them up and sleep better at night knowing that the ones I have I obtained myself.  I feel your grief....
