I posted this image a couple of days ago, got no response. when was the last time you saw a muddy double autograph? you haven't 'till now. I don't believe another exists. I met the hoochie coochie man backstage in dec of 1977 at gusman hall in downtown Miami, FL.
he let me hang out between shows and take photos. his wife marva was there, bonnie raitt too. I asked him if he'd sign both of his names, he did, and said he never
did before. soon after this amazing night I lost the negatives and didn't find them for 30 years. they were in a box in my mom's garage. she had asked me so many times to please clean out my crap from her garage, I did not until she passed away. my muddy waters pictures would never be found while my mom was alive...
I could not believe I had found them. some of the images are now in the rock n roll hall of fame. so what's this one of a kind autograph worth? to me?...priceless.

here you go, Nathan...all photos taken by me, except the image of me with muddy.
Beautiful and very rare example. I have never seen a full real name signature of him before and have studied him in depth. I am a huge collector of guitarists in general, but with a special emphasis on the blues and jazz guitar greats. I started a thread on here called The Great American Blues Players, or something like that. I really need to add to it, but i just havent had time recently. But yours is an example for it for sure. Muddy is one of the most desirable autos of the bluesmen right now. You could sell for a great amount on RR Auction compared to the typical signature prices. Muddy was a great player, a true master
well, just out of curiosity, can you offer a price range, Carl for the Muddy/McKinley, thanks.
Hi Dave,
I am just guessing here but i will give it a shot. Is the item in question a signed card? If it is a signed card, it is less desirable than a pic of course, but with the uniqueness of your item, it kinda cancels that out. If it were to hit .....say... RR acution, i would guess it would go for 400 to 1000 dollars. And id guess it would be more like between 600 and 1000. ON ebay, it woud probably go for between 3 and 4 hundred id guess. So i wouldnt go that route if you were going to sell. But a major auction house will bring in alot of potential buyers, and it seems Muddy autographs are in major demand among music collectors, especially overseas. In my experience a normal Muddy cut will go for around 300 to 500 dollars depending on bidders. Your item and how unique it is, i would guess to go for double that. And id expect it to go for between 600 and 1000. Probably somewhere in the middle. But you never know. Thats the first i have ever seen of his full name sig like that, so it could go for much more. Its hard to estimate such an unusual piece, but i wouldnt be shocked if it went for over 1000. Its just such a cool item
