Are these Babe Ruth, Gehrig, Presidential, Monroe, etc...autographs real?

I was looking through some older autograph offerings from a known dealer and I saw a few autographs listed from stars and celebs that have been talked about here. So, It made me wonder, are these items that were sold in the past real?

This is the same crap Coach's Corner pulls. Its clear deception and keeps un-educated buyers from focusing on the signature being offered.

I don't like either one of the Ruth or Gehrig signatures. The L in Lou is way off, as is the flow of the signature (admittedly the scan sucks, and its difficult to really see the detail) and the G formation is not correct. the spacing is off. I just don't think these are real. The Ruth is close but I think its off. this is a typical Gehrig, from the same era. He was consistant and you will see almost all of his real signatures have this flow and letter formation.

Thanks, John! its a barnstorming ball from 1929, and it also has Ruth, Hack Wilson, Hornsby, Hartnett, and a bunch of other non-HOF. Heavily shellacked but beautiful in its ugliness!

Love it's beautiful ugliness. Many times this is a strong indication of authenticity. Gehrig is way undervalued in my opinion. Id guess he signed about 1/50th as much as Ruth. Whats your feeling?

You could be right. How many single signed Gehrig balls have you seen? I think one of the issues with Gehrig is even though he was a tremendous player, I believe he was greatly overshadowed by Ruth, and thus not in as high demand for his signature.
