Dear Marilyn Experts out there,
may I ask you for your opinion about the attached autographed note on an old piece of paper (8 * 5,5 inches/20,5 14,5 cm) with quite some stains...
The handwritten note says in Marilyns handwriting (t.b.c.):
"I didn't say that (.)
I said it's a" -
then it is followed by 4 words in a different, very scratchy writing saying
"- responsibility
being an actress",
followed by her - hopefully authentic - MM signature.
Any comments on this very interesting autograph? Do you consider it as authentic?
On the reverse side, there is a note written in another different handwriting (in lead pencil) stating "05.10.61 LOS Angeles".
Has anybody seen this before? What do you think of it?
I am very curious to hear your opinions. Thanks a million times in advance.
My best regards
Markus
PS: I am quite new to this forum and I am glad to have the chance to ask you as experts :-)

My dearest Pauline,
hey - great news again!!! This "d" is another evidence that we have Marilyn's authentic handwriting here. I am really keen on receiving the book (it is on its way...) in order to compare it myself.
But thank you so very much for all your time and effort!!! Highly appreciated.
And yes, I also see your point with the "energy" in the flow of the signature...Hhmmmm...
In any case this handwritten note is a very interesting one. I started making up stories of how it might have happened. I thought of a story at a restaurant table (with maybe some alcohol involved) where she complained to someone that she was misquoted. And so it could have happened that they took notes together which were then signed by MM in order to express what she had really said. :-) Funny story, huh?
And there are quite some quotes of Marilyn stating things like: "“I realize more and more the responsibility, and it is a responsibility, that I want to be a good actress.” -Marilyn, Radio interview with Dave Garroway"
Or here: https://www.google.de/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&sour...
Well, I will frame it and hang it onto my wall of fame as a part of the "holy grail" :-)
Thanks again, have a nice day and an even nicer weekend!
Best regards
Markus
